The keyboard player on Sparks was billiant. Me and my brother used to watch them on TV hoping the camera would pan back and show him scowling again. Sparks are just regular guys when they are not performing...but their stage performance is just something else!
It's a blink and you miss it fair use clip in a montage near the beginning of the documentary which also features a clip of Zag from Zig & Zag impersonating Ron. I clip I need to look up.
You've made me feel old. I was in my 20s when I saw "Vic Reeves' Big Night Out". "Spin spin spin the wheel of justice, see how fast the bastard spins".
A lot of people didn`t get Vic and Bob. It was subtle stuff, they were playing `northerners who weren`t in the least bit funny trying to be funny`. I`ve never seen anyone do it better, they totally nailed it.
and just when people are scratching their heads and wondering what`s funny about unfunny comedians, throw in the word `surreal` and it all makes sense. Genius.
Sorry, just a fail. They had the Ron impersonation pretty good, but if you can't do Russell's voice, the whole thing falls down. (And no, the joke isn't that he's singing poorly on purpose, he just can't sing it.). Now, if they did something with the lyrics changed, at least *_THAT_* would have been something. But this?
