As a new south Welshman, that's just returned from the high country I can confirm Nsw has nothing on Victoria. What's ever crazier is that Vic actually encourage you to get out in the hills. All nsw does is install gates to keep you out.
Man thats some steep shit dudes.. Brake pads are to blame for boiling fluids.. It happened to me as well on a very very steep bit of track. front and rear.... I was using EBC Metal pads... as soon as I moved back to organic pads.. problem solved.. Metal pads heat up caliper and thus fluid, organic pads heat up rotor not the fluid... so Brake expert told me.. He was correct...
Thats a good question. I believe its a zumo xt from my experience with Phil its hit and miss. Goes off track a bit. I still like using gaia on my phone but it can be incorrect sometimes as well. I have not seen the perfect system yet. But going very remote i would probably use a garmin.
