We lived in Mestrino, between Vicenza and Padua, many years ago...our daughter was born at Camp Ederle. Thank you for evoking sweet memories of living in northern Italy in the mid '70's. 🙂

Padova (Padua) is magnificent, my uncle is a University professor there so i had the occasion to visit it, very recommended.

You introduce the Vicenza realy good with fun. Vicenza is realy in a nice area, when you wanna visit the Lake of Garda its only 100km away from the city, its worth to visit. The lake is very popular for Surfing,

Hello! Thank you for talking about my hometown in such a good way. Let’s hope to get more tourists around to explore this beautiful town. I have two other things to tell you just for the sake of curiosity: teatro olimpico is the oldest closed theater in the world and spritz indeciso is called that way cause indeciso means unsettled, someone who can’t pick and make a choice. That’s why it has both Aperol and Campari! 😂😂😂 Also you went to Pausa dei Dogi!! I love it 😂 it’s so cool to see you guys going around places I’ve always went to

So awesome! We were stationed in Vicenza for 3years.. so many memories… although it was in the 1970’s.. I still miss it.. I was lucky enough to have been an army brat, and dad (and us) lived in Italy for 6 years total.. I’d love to be able to take my wife some day.. thanks for doing this video.. you have no idea how much seeing your Vicenza video means to me.. going to share with my family

Sono di Como sono stato a Vicenza un fine settimana con mia moglie bellissima città ci hanno trattato veramente bene fantastici sia i bigoli al sugo d'anitra che " il massimo per mia moglie che non è Italiana il baccalà" saluto con affetto tutti i vicentini e parlo sempre a tutti di visitare la vostra città ❤️👍!!!

My grandfather came from vicenza to the US when he was 18 and fought on our side in ww2. I love my Italian roots and I'm very proud. Lots of people in the US think Italians are all dark like Sicilians. I am a pale blonde girl and I'm Northern Italian 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹💓💓💓 grew up eating ots of polenta.. risotto..and baccala.. 😊

I was born and raised in Italy, I've never been in Vicenza, but now I'm kinda curious 😁 About speaking Italian, I wouldn't recommend doing that: chances are that they will start talking back to you in Italian, so do that only if you indeed can speak it or you will see some confused faces...😅

Hi, nice review, as usual. I suggest you to visit Vicenza on early May 2024, during the Alpini National meeting. You will have a chance to witness one of the most unique happening of Italian culture. In case you can try in Udine next year. Ciao, hope to meet you there for a spritz.

Your Italian pronunciation about alcoholic drinks is perfect, "Aperitivi", "Spritz Aperol", "Grappa" and "Prosecco"! (we could give to you the "Keys to the city" for that). Great video, great city, and well worth a visit; please be warned if you do drive pay attention to the various no-go zones downtown (Zona Traffico Limitato ZTL al centro) so you do not get tickets mailed to you. I have helped many friend and colleague who received the multa a few months post visit.

Public transportation (Bus) is really cheap in Vicenza 1-2 euros. I lived there for 3-years and I would not recommend walking up top Monte Berico, especially in the dead of summer, Bassano Del Grappa is one of my favorite places especially now since the Ponte Vecchio reopened.

The comment on cats reminded me: when I was in Italy in 1988 one of the shocks was the massive population of cats in the Roman forum. Is that still the case? Thanks for the info on Vicenza, I didn't make it there and it looks like it's definitely worth a visit!

It's a popular saying, no Italian thinks that the people of Vicenza eat cats, it's part of the old rivalry between the various Italian cities (in this case it concerns the Veneto region); it was said that the Venetians were great lords (so rich and well educated), the Paduans were doctors, the Veronesi (inhabitants of Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet) were crazy and the Vicenza people were cat-eaters (this is the short version, there are other cities in the full version). But it's a joke (like my English, sorry 😄), what's the point of saying that in a video? 🍺

Totally go to Verona, but skip Juliet's balcony. She is fictional, and her balcony is fake. Much more interesting is the Roman Archaeological Museum and Theatre across the river.
