"Why is your memory so vivid all of a sudden?" This made me almost fall out of my chair the first time I saw it. My best friend and I have been saying "vivid" to each other for weeks, which does get us the odd look as we otherwise speak norwegian
WHY have I never heard of this until today?! I did at least THREE spit takes and I think I hurt myself laughing TWICE at this. I never knew that Sir Ian McKellen was so savagely hilarious.
This series is soo funny 😂 It's amazing to see the Master and Magneto together, they didn't get the Doctor and Professor X but at least they have each other x)
This is one of the funniest comedy I have seen in a long time, and two of our greatest actors showing us how it’s done from Shaspere to comedy that’s talent ,I just wish there was more.
I found this on tv a few days after I'd binge-watched the last three GoT seasons in about a week and a half. I couldn't forget Ramsay Bolton, no matter how hard I tried.
It's incredible to see Ian McKellen - Magneto and Gandalf - exercise his sense of comedy alongside Derek Jacobi... but very awesome and natural. And seeing them dance at 02.05 is the most unexpected and sweet thing I've seen them do! I should try to see more of this show.
Just found this on PBS the past week. I love it! It’s like the classic British comedy in that it’s not politically correct which means it’s hilarious! I’ve got to get the dvd of this series as PBS bleeps out several words. Amazing how Great Britain understands that people can hear certain words and not have a cow. It’s a real shame this only lasted two series. It’s pure gold
Has anyone else noticed the framed "Masquerade" mini-poster they keep showing behind Freddie every once in a while? It looks like an advertisement for "The Phantom of the Opera". I think it would be really cool if Ian's old reprochet theater buddy, Michael Crawford, the Phantom for the original London company, made a cameo.
It's so intriguing how one of the comedic hooks of the show is how Ian and Derek's characters, in a gay relationship, lean in to the popular discontent heterosexual marriage dynamic ("I hate my nagging wife" / "oh my dumb oaf husband") and make it so over the top as to be absurd. I just find it interesting.
