Victa 18 Classic Lawn Mower - Part 2 - Start Up - Will It Start? 

OK..some tips for you. empty the fuel tank, take it off, then remove the fuel tap. somewhere you will find a little grubscrew on it. take that out and you will be able to remove the plunger. on the plunger you will find an 'O' ring. this is what will be causing the leak as it's probably perished or cracked with age. take it to your local auto parts store and they will be able to supply you with a new one which you can fit, and will stop the leak if the plunger itself isnt too badly worn. as for the crankcase leak, its probably missing its gasket, all you need to do is buy a new one or make it yourself from thin gasket material. if you cant do that, then buy yourself a bottle of aviation gasket cement, again from your auto parts store and apply a thin layer of it to two faces and bolt it back together and that will solve that problem for you. it may even help it run a little better as 2 stroke motors, by design have a crankcase that works on a vacuum/ pressure cycle when running and any leaks can reduce their efficiency. great little mower, cool it started so easily :-)

What a beast starting second pull. Looking forward to seeing you tinker with it mate. Would you say that it’s louder then today’s push mowers? Also any idea what that channel in the middle is about with the two holes?
