I think it's the diversity of moves When each character has 100+ moves it means two people will not play the same character the same way (except maybe in like top play) That's my guess
"It fElLs lIkE TwO ArTiStS ShOwCaSiNg tHeIr cRaFt" dudes in not even hit green ranks yet. The only way that's art, if it's that really shitty modern art, like someone taping a banana to a wall or some shit.
@dizzygunner not commenting on the gameplay, only on the analogy, but if the issue with it being art is the ranks, then it would be more accurate to say "two beginners artists learning the basics brushstrokes" or something, saying it's a shitty type of art would be more analog to 2 people playing a shitty game as opposed to the level of the "artist".
So because it isnt green rank the statement isnt true? Why ridicule the comment? Heera Malik and Knee play high level Steve and they're nothing alike. They can bith be appreciated @dizzygunner
I love how T7-8 generally incorporates weapon use a little more. I’m actually feeling down for some Soul Calibur guest characters as DLC (Taki / Talim for starters)
Talim being my second fave soul cal character would be awesome for me and I also stand by the notion of wanting a SC guest character SC has had Tekken chars, let Tekken return the favor
I’m playing ranked and it takes a while to learn his moves and tricks to anticipate them. Played against 3 Victor players so far and only managed to beat one of them.
I'm a fairly new Tekken Player and chose Victor. Ya his flashy moves and tricks really trip people out letting me win often. At least in the lower ranks. But now I've climbed to a point where I'm not winning as often so I guess its time to learn how to play the game 😂
With Tekken 8 doing so well, and the entire FGC uniting over great netcode, I really hope we can get other 3D franchises to make a comeback. Soul Calibur, DOA, VF. DBZ Tenkaichi... I hope companies are inspired and willing to take a chance on another installment. The way the FGC is now with Rollback and crossplay it would be really cool.
DBZ Tenkaichi is already getting a new game, out of the remainder three Soul Calibur is by far the most likely to return. SC6 wasn’t a financial *flop* for Bamco the way SC5 was but it wasn’t a smash hit. Meanwhile both DOA and VF’s latest releases were financially complete flops(DOA6 died very fast and VF5:FS was just a side-game handled by RGG Studios that died 3-4 months after launch, VF4FT getting Fightcade support was the nail in the coffin)
I’ve gotten to Warrior Rank on Viktor and realised that if the opponent doesn’t outright stop you from going into Iai stance after the standing 2 combo, it’s best to hesitate for a tiny moment to see where they’re blocking. If they are standing, commit to the low. If they’re not, then launch them with a 1,2,2. If they get fast enough to interrupt the low then go for d3,4. Get used to not only going in, but stepping back for those whiffs to punish. Especially in Iai stance since mids can really beat you up if you don’t d3,4 fast enough. d4 in Iai stance helps make enough distance or launch upon counter hit. It should be used over other moves if they are not super close since sword slashes can be punished too easily.
That'a actually a good lesson for a lot of characters that rely on stance mixups. At higher levels, they know what to anticipate so you would like to check if you can knowledge check them or not.
Sharing this because I just learned it for myself today: what Victor says when he activates heat mode is "Je te tiens" which means "I've got you". I was curious after hearing it so many times, so I figured others would also like to know.
The Max keeps say “let’s go dood.” And then the intro kicks into gear is a blast and it makes worth while seem go full Jetstream Victor on his opponents. Case in point right here 0:06, then at 1:06 max battles the Coca Cola bear. 24:44 Law: “I hate rich people.” Me: “Then why are you yearning for money? Oh wait you are in such massive debt that you were left with a check of 100 trillion dollars in your arcade ending.”
I’ve been playing Law. Ironically I only played him in Tekken 3, spamming backflips. And now I’m an adult, doing actually; somewhat; decent combos with him. I love Tekken.
@@peakfiction4819 oh,like the character theme or stage theme?cuz the stage theme i think is different from the theme that was in her battle with heihachi
As someone that played Tekken since the first installment, but was never "good" at it. I was pleasantly surprised at how accessible and "easy" tekken 8 was. Yeah I used to play with friends but none of us were ACTUAL fighting game players. I'm having more fun with tekken than I ever had before and that's saying something cause this is my childhood game series which I used to play with my dad.
I’m still a Paul stan but I put victor on the list of characters to learn. Along with Reina and Leroy (whom I nvr got to play with in 7 cuz I stopped playing before he was released).
What Giovanni said. Then watch some tutorial on standing up and movement. You will be right on track. Just enjoy the ride, avoid frustration, it's a learning process after all.
Most of all I am excited to see some higher skill level Azucena gameplay. She looks like so much fun and her moveset has some really flashy haymakers and counters.
With how hard everyone says Tekken is I was a little apprehensive to jump in as a new player but honestly button mashing in this game feels far more rewarding than any other modern fighting game IMO and I’m not even using the “scrub mode” lol.
Button mashing is legit in this game, since this is mapped with the position of your limbs (Left punch, right punch, etc), compared with others using something like low kick or high kick. Back in Tekken 3 you can win using Hwo or Eddy with only 2 kick button, or Paul with only 2 punch button
Just bought Tekken 8 from steam this morning and left it downloading. I'm jumping to Tekken from NRS fighting games, can't wait to get my brain destroyed with the learning curve.
I'm not sure if I'm right about this. But I think Victor might have sort of an infinite with Up, Forward 3 counter hit into Forward, Forward 2. If they don't tech left or right it hits them in the head guaranteed.
It doesn't break combos, you can achieve the same with some armored move. Sometimes valid, not always (the trade-off can be negative if the other dude does more damage before you hit)..
Are the Tekken 8 translations wrong? Victor's intro says: "I'm looking forward to this one-sided match". But I hear him say: "Accept your defeat, you have already lost". Also, in his rage art, he says: "Let's be effective/efficient" but the subtitles write "let's do this in style"?!
It's probably just that there is no direct to English translation for what they want to say or it's some weird Japanese to French to English translation shenanigans.
I speak 4 languages and, so far, all of the non-japanese translations are dead wrong. The Japanese translations are - of course - not literal translations, but in line with just about any good Japanese-English translation.
