Selfishly we forget that celebrities have a private life. Thank you for sharing such intimate photos of your family...Clarence was the embodiment of grace and dignity without whom we would lose the depth of many, many masterpieces... Rest in love Clarence and may the good lord look over your loved ones....

I met Clarence briefly in Dublin, 2009. I said "God Bless you Clarence", and he replied "God Bless you my young friend". What a wonderful man, what a wonderful legacy. Thank you Victoria for sharing this lovely tribute.

R.I.P The Big Man, Everybody knew when you was on stage because of that beautiful and soulful sound you produced amazed everyone, such a great person, how 5 years go so fast I remember being near the front at London calling in 2009, why you played your solo piece to jungleland, that talent and that sound was priceless. My dad was your fan and he past his love for and passion for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band down to me and I will never here a better saxophone player than you ever again. The world has lost one of the greatest musicians ever but in my eyes a true legend and a very loving person, I'm very lucky to say that I have seen you play and listen to your greatness. We all miss you The Big Man.

I was an officer in Dallas when Bruce and the E Street Band came to town... Clarence reached down to shake my hand... An internal investigation was launched because of my alleged unprofessional conduct... I was found not culpable...I will never forget Clarence aka The Big Man...On Drive All Night... omg... perfection in no way comparable.... Through the wind, the rain, Clarence will always have my love... RIP Big Man....Heart and Soul

Brought me to tears almost instantly. The combination of Bruce's voice somehow always containing some elements of sadness and melancholy, and Clarence's heartfelt soaring saxophone lines are a wonder of this world we can only be grateful for that it existed and lasted until it did. My deepest condolences, we mourn with you!

I'm 53 years young now. I grew up back in the 70's listening to the cranking rock of heavy metal like Rush, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Ted Nugent etc. But there was ALWAYS one song by Bruce that I was drawn to, "Jungleland". The BIG MAN put a heavy twist on then what was considered R&R with his solo in that tune. Back then, I was not a fan of the horns and to me bands like Chicago were outdated. But, what your man did with that horn gave a NEW and intriguing meaning to R&R Victoria. I was heartbroken when I heard of his passing and knew that Bruce would never be the same. The BIG MAN was a classy well evolved and VERY talented person. And from what I see in this video, you are as well. May god bless you always by reminding you your life was blessed by the one and ONLY...BIG MAN!

Makes me happy to think Clarence had such love all around him during these years. Also a vivid reminder that life was just more fun for all of us when he was around. Of course, he remains with us and always will.

Thanks for sharing. In 1984 me was ten when first time Springsteen and his E-Street Gang channeled their noise to my ears. I knew very little English since my familiy is international while I was born in a shithole of nothern Germany. But their music made me study the lyrics, the lyrics made me isolating from my environment, that lead me deeper and deeper to Philosophy, Literature and Monotheisms.. That made me a writer. A wanna be a writer writer. Over the History of Science and Believes. Did academic things, never liked it, earned degrees. Do not care. Just keep on writing whitout any security except for the love of my child. I go on & on and I always get back to E Street und know how much they influenced me, my life, my perspective and modus of how to recognize the world. It's damn good that there is Arts, and Clarence, Danny, and all those guys, alive or gone, whether Artists or Thinkers, are connected to my thoughts no matter that I deal with very different themes. Thanks once more and wish u the best for life!

Still miss you Big Man. I've learned now that you can't out run a broken heart. But I gave it a shot in my 20's. I guess the best thing I can say about Clarence is there were those nights driving alone down the interstate when Bruce's voice and that sax felt like the only thing I had in this world. They were my friends, my guide, and my teachers on a search. I think Clarence knew that a lot of people felt that way trying to navigate life and he took that responsibility very seriously. And that's what was magical about his playing.. Thank you Big Man. 🙏

Thank you for sharing these Mrs. Clemons, When I was 9 my step mom was a huge Bruce fan. Anyway she had the Born To Run on LP (ask kids today what a LP is and you laugh), and I saw the cover. I still recall thinking who is that big bad ass black dude with the sax?, 'That's BIG MAN!' she said. Then she spun up Born To Run and that blaring sax, man, I was hooked. I had never heard sax played like that before. I went and told my friends and my friend Tommy, he was the same age, well he had just gotten a sax for his beginning journey into music and I asked him had he heard of of Clarence and he was like 'uh yeah why'd you think I started playing?!'. True story.

Thanks for a glimpse into Clarence's family. Beautiful. Such a cool man. Got my 3 teenage kids loving Bruce, Clarence and the E Street Band. We crank it. Forever in our hearts.
