This immortal game we will be playing a little differently, avoiding early snowballs so we can get into later game and use the corporations system in Civ4. Corporations are often ignored because state property disables them and is an extremely strong civic, but we will try playing the late game without them this time. How will it go??
Settings: Immortal, Inland Sea, No tech trade & No huts & No events, +1 AI for map balance.

There was something very elegant about how the two cities were so well synchronized right in the beginning. Workers out the same turn, warriors out the same turn, tiles being improved and flipped back and forth right on time

Ngl, that settler opening plus dropping it low on the map not claiming territory above had me chirping at the monitor. The sheer bag of tricks you showcase and that superb micro management was so much fun to watch. Love when you throw in different content like this and play it brilliantly.

It's impressive how you still enjoy playing this game after so many games! I'd love to see someday a fractal, random leader, unrestricted leader, deity, and see how you manage the combination you end up with :)

Thank you so much for all your content, I've genuinely found it so helpful. Your awesome breakdown of the cuirassier rush has moved me up from not always beating Warlord to consistently beating Prince even with rough starts. I still crutch financial hard but your content is awesome and I love watching the high level that you play at. That 7 hour Justinian live stream last Christmas is was great, can we get another deity full game stream this Christmas? Would be w fantastic present. Hope all is well in your new role.

One little detail about corporations that I've never seen mentioned (my apologies if you did and I missed it): Aluminum co. gives you access to the aluminum resource if you have coal, and Standard Ethanol gives you access to oil if you have either corn, sugar or rice. It is extremely niche, and it will be useless in 99.99% of the games, but that 0.01% where it gets to the late game, and you haven't been able to get access to oil, can make a huge difference by allowing you to build tanks or fighters. Same goes if you have to or want to go for a space race and didn't secure aluminum. Love the video, thanks Henrik!

Inland sea! Your suggestion to use the map like a training map to jump up a difficulty in a previous game worked great for me. Was able to go from shaky immortal, usually emperor to confident immortal

@@jukeseyable I'll have you know I'm neither british nor american. And yes, I do believe laughter is important in life, and not just in mine. I find joy in many things in life, cheap jokes is just one of them. I don't know why you'd assume I'm small-minded just from one joke. You know nothing about me. I speak 6 different languages, have lived, studied and worked on 3 different continents (soon to be 4) just because I find it interesting to immerse myself in other cultures and get to understand their worldview. The one time I experimented with no tech trading for me and AI was on a huge map with myself on an island far away so I couldnt interfere with what the AI did until the caravel. When I finally met the AI's Tokugawa was dominating. It was formidable!

Just a random thought, but Sistine Chapel is not that good for culture victory imo. Cathedrals and Hermitage are the only must build buildings for quick culture victories IMO. And of course National Epic

6:30 You can stack corparations that are not competing against each other. For example you can have Sid sushi and Mining Inc. Is that why you and the other player didn't spread corporation's to each other during the Culture Domination game a few months ago?

yes im aware of this, will be doing it later. whether it be double culture corps or food+prod corps. no spoilers! in that game we traded each other all the respective resources so the corps wouldn't have been effective anyway.
