My chihuahua does this and I don’t know what to do. Once she gets comfy with you’ll she’ll stop. But when she sees you it’s non stop

My downstairs neighbors used to have two dogs who were barking for hours and hours when left alone. I tried to tell the owners that their dogs seem to have a problem but they didn't care at all because the dogs were quiet when they were around. I was so relieved when they split up and moved out, but i wonder what happened to the dogs...

You can always pop a sign on your door to let delivery people know about the training. Most would be appreciative of no longer getting smothered with such huge dogs once the door is open 😊

@@weatherwitchandfelinefamiliars But what about just cats walking by or people passing by and people who are loudy? My dog barks at passing people sometimes and sometimes she barks at something but we haven't seen or heard.

My dog will bark not only at people at my door but also at cats or other wild animals passing in front of my house. She will also bark at anyone passing by on the sidewalk or at people that talk very loudly or are just very loud. Me and my family always get her away from the front door if it's too much.

for toys, if I remember right, Victoria would do a swap with whatever they're protecting with something they value more (ex: dog protective over toy swap toy with chicken or another high-value treat) then you'd introduce the drop it command whenever they drop/stop guarding the toy they're protective over. if you go to its me or the dog youtube channel, type in "guarding" in the search bar and it'll show you multiple videos of victoria tackling dogs who resource guard, hopefully, one of those will give you better insight

Swap for a higher value toy or treat so the dog learns that giving up the thing they’re guarding sometimes gets something better. Look up “resource guarding”

That’s nothing. A friend of mine has a Brussels Griffon that barked for four solid hours one night. We never did girls night at her place again. She couldn’t figure out why no one ever wanted to come over and hang out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is nothing ! . My friends dog barks all night every single night and only stops if you leave the house, feed him or walk him but he starts up again a few minutes later . If a guest comes he barks even more and doesnt stop for a minute . For me hes a good boy and never makes a sound . But for his owners hes a horrible dog to be arround

My dog is the same around guests and I don’t know what to do. He’s a fearful dog and does this out of fear. He won’t stop barking until they are gone. I would like to help him but have no clue how to do that
