Golly Graham, that is a fine cake for your first go! I have been making just that in my Cosori 3.7 ltr Air Fryer, and it never ceases to amaze me that it has cooked in a small box with heat!!!! I have baked all my life and cakes were a speciality of mine, my niece's used to call my home the Cake House !!! Since my Stroke I haven't been able to do much in the kitchen, so it is a REAL treat for me to make again. Mine are only 6" of course, that is why I can't wait to have the same Cosari as you have just got. You are pr oving that all I had surmised is correct! Thank you Grayham. I was sorry to hear in your reply to my last text that you had also had a stroke after Covid. Talk about hitting a man when he is down!!! You have done very well.....like me! Keep up the good work. I don't know what I would do now without my Air Fryer and I know you think the same. Keep cooking, all the best, Carol from Devon. I am 82, still a Spring Chicken despite the odds!! Xx
Hi again carol in Devon. The cake house wow I would have loved to come round to your house. We find this dual blaze to be really good as all the subscribers have told me. One friend said I should tell everyone what I think in a video, I’m not sure of any bad points except the sides get hot after a while. The cooking area is about nine and a quarter square and is great for Wendy and me. It’s really easy to use and cleaning is a dream with just a soft cloth.Trying a beef joint on Sunday if I don’t mess up the filming again. Look after yourself Carol and thanks for your lovely comments. Wendy said the air fryer is not as good for cakes as our oven is. We don’t really use that much now.
Hi both - this is a no fat fruit cake soak 1lb dried fruit in a cup of hot tea, no milk, and 3oz dem sugar, for a few hours or overnight, mix in an egg and 8oz s r flour, put in tins, sprinkle with sugar , bake about an hour 160 fan (oven ) - 2 x 1lb loaf tins for example ❤
Hi Pauline, you make that sound really easy. I’ll have to have a go at that. Thank you Pauline, we had Welsh cake on the pier at Bangor, a few years ago and it was like my mums tea loaf. Really nice that’s why I remember, would this be the same cake 🤷♂️ 😍🥰😘👍👌
A Welsh cake is diff it’s a small round flat - cut out with a cutter - can be cooked on hob with frying pan - we have another cake which is called bara Brith. - think that’s what you may have had x
That cake turned out pretty good but it’s not good for us and it keeps winking at me and Wendy, hi Lorna 👋👋👋👋. Heaven rain showers here so we’re doing nothing 🤔👍
Just eaten a Chinese curry from a jar and cooked it on my old induction hod. I’ve wanted to show you it for a long time but couldn’t find it. I’m so untidy in that garage. The weather has calmed down now, editing time when I’ve had five minutes 😴🤗👍
Well done Graham, your cake looks fantastic, I think that you would find it easier mixing the mixture with a fork instead of a spatula, or use your whisk, also try and add some flour with the eggs, then it doesn't kind of curdle, it's better to use a food mixer when making cake's as it adds air and makes the mixture light and fluffy, it's also quicker, but hey, you've done a brilliant job, don't forget to save me a slice, tip - also if you put some jam in a cup of mug and whisk it around with a fork it makes it more pliable to spread on to the cake, just saying, hope it helps, can't wait to see you make another cake ❤👍💯🤩
Hi Rosemary, I was really disappointed at first. Wendy told me it wasn’t right and the cake barrel was to deep. The second two were much better and it all tasted great in the end. I’ve seen some throw it all in sponges and might try one soon. I can’t eat to much cake or I won’t get through the Kitchen door. 😂😂😂😂😂🥰😘👍 . It’s nice to hear from Ena hopefully she feels better. Hi Phillip 👋👋👋👋👋👍
Thank you Doreen Rosemary always makes sense, hopefully I will remember next time. I do find it hard to film and cook things but I think I’m getting better. Maybe I shouldn’t fool about so much 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👋👋
Hi Graham, I agree with Rosemary. If creaming mixture by hand it's a lot easier using a fork as it's easier to beat the mixture but use your electric mixer wherever possible. The cake looks lovely and very enticing. I'm glad it worked out great in the end. Also another tip is to stand your cup or mug in some very hot water to loosen it up so it's easier to spend on your cake. Take care both of you and looking forward to what you'll be cooking next 🍰❤
I always mix cakes up with an old tablespoon its nice & large so it creams the butter & sugar together quickly. Much better as you found to use a smaller cake tin the only drawback using an airfryer unless you have a large drawer you can only cook one layer at a time. Its ok for the eggs to go like that then you just gradually add the flour.
Hi Jev thank you for your comments I could only get one cake tin in at a time. I will have to measure how much it would cost in the main oven. Baking isn’t cheap is it mate 🤷♂️👋👋👋👍
I always Use the bake button as this is meant for cooking cakes sponge etc I normally cook on 160c or 150c if top browning to quickly just cover with tin foil good first attempt 👍 it looks yummy I've just brought a set of silicone dishes off amazon there's 4 in a pack 2 of the dishes are 8 inches which fit perfectly in the dual blaze the cake come out easy no sticking with silicone i just wait till its cool then tip it out on a plate .I have the round cake tin with handle but it's OK but I find I have to line it with greaseproof and grease it well with my new silicone pans no greasing needed these silicone pans also cook great omelette no sticking comes out whole in one piece I so enjoy your cooking thanks ❤
I could learn a lot from you as well mi duck. You are getting on well with the silicone pans I should have a look again. I’ve been forgetting to use the preset buttons but I’m getting better, could you send me the link to your silicone dishes.if your not sure how don’t worry 😉🥰😘👋
Oh Graham Wendy what a lovely cake I bet it was nice with a cup of tea .you can't beat a home made cake mum always used her bero book I had it til it fell apart so I bought a new one and I always use the beat abòok now you can make little cakes try rock cakes a poor man's scone so easy well done to the both of you love fran xxxxx❤
Hi Fran. I think I could eat that cake with anything 😂😂😂😂 my mum used to do me rock cakes even when I was at work. I love them and it would be another lovely memory for me. Thank you love Graham and Wendy 🥰😘👏👏👏👏
Hi Graham and Wendy, the cake looked really nice, I could just eat a slice. I think the first one you had the temperature too high, also when I add my eggs I add a bit of flour at the same time as a previous lady mentioned before me then the mixture won't curdle. I am a very fussy eater but I love cakes. I was making one every week, the only problem with that is you have to keep eating them. Anyway you did really well
I’ve seen a recipe for Victoria sponge I’d like to try on the BBC . It’s an all in one method. I’m not supposed to eat cake as it’s not good for blood pressure. Me and the rest of the world I think 🤔 ❤️🥰😘👍
@@angelaboschetto9106 hi Angela I didn’t check the cost but I used it three times. About an hour and a half so between 30 to 35 pence on 180c I would guess. 🥰😘👍
Hi Graham we are all learning from our & your mistakes mate final cake 🍰 looks yummy I'm actually in my favourite coffee shop at the moment do you do delivery 😁🍰🍰
Hi Pauline I love pavlova but it would end up an Eaton mess. I like that as well 😀. Wendy doesn’t like either but she always wanted a tea room 😂😂😂👍. 😍😘
I’ve got Samuel Goves 6 inch tins from Amazon great ❤ Non stick but I still flour/Marg the tins sometimes if I have 6 inch cake line I use that ❤️- wish list perhaps Graham 🥰
