What a beautiful Dickens christmas village it must have taken you some time to put together do you leave this up all year if not it must take lots of hours and desiging to put together just love the music to michael buble is a lovely choice for music but l though we were not allowed to use proper songs only if you pay but the music works so well with your christmas village 😊
Perfect, just perfect. I have watch numerous times. Never get tired of watching. can I ask how large it is. My base is 8' x 8'. seems like I always run out of room.
I've watched your videos multiple times. I noticed that on another video you mentioned that you painted the building to create your NY cityscape. I was wondering what paint you used on your "Under the Boomershoot", since I noticed that you have a a number of the figurine but with different colored umbrellas. I'm assuming you painted them?
Thank you so much. Yes I have painted my pieces when I need to. However, this particular piece is available in different colored umbrellas. Those with colorful umbrellas were special event pieces called ‘Under the NCC umbrella.’ There’s 5 available (yellow, green, red, blue and white). If you want to paint the umbrella yourself, any acrylic paint will work.
Where it all started for me--your exceptional record of Dickens' displays. Tremendous achievement this year of a dream of Victorian London. Cheers and more cheers!
Awww thank you David. And especially that’s how our friendship started. I will always be grateful for that. You took what I presented and elevated it to a totally insane level…Let’s keep the love for Victorian England, Department 56 and Christmas going!!!
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched your videos. They’re Absolutely beautiful. I’m not sure if you respond to comments but You have a chocolate stand accessory that I love. I’ve searched everywhere - dept 56 and lemax, and I can’t find it. Do you know where you got it? Thank you! Happy New Year!
Thank you very much for your kind words. It’s a labor of love for sure. All these pieces are department 56. If I think correctly, the chocolate stand you referred to is called ‘Dickens Village, sidewalk sweets’. It was a special limited edition 2016 mid year release. The coordinating house is called ‘Christmas Sweet’. At the time, I got it from one of the retailers. I have not seen the accessory available on secondary market. I have seen the house awhile back. I’ll keep an eye out for you.
This is the house on eBay www.ebay.com/itm/374529075355?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=bhIDmEXIS06&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=5rRha0_VT9i&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Thank you for that, it’s been a few years since I put one up and yours has truly inspired me, and with my Granddaughter going to be 2 years old I know she will love it. I know you keep hearing this but it is a Beautiful Village Display!!!
@@michaelvelazquez7416 your granddaughter will definitely love it. Just let me know if you have any questions with the set up. I will start NYC display at the end of the summer.
Very beautiful Dana. Love all the detail work you put into it. The cobbles, arranging the buildings to be a village as you would see in Europe and then topping it off with a nice table skirt and trim. My village is set up very similar. Cheers to you! Merry Christmas.
Thank you Doug. I really enjoyed putting the display every year (couldn’t do them the last 2 years). I have done a few versions of Dickens displays. But This was the first London display that I’ve done. I wanted to keep it authentic to the city with the landmark buildings relatively geographically correct. I would have loved to have been able to create River Thames and London Bridge, but space didn’t allow me to have those. Happy Christmas to you and your family!!!!
Thank you. It is called St James Hall. It was the place Charles Dickens read Christmas Carol in public for the last time. department56.com/products/st-james-hall
Thank you so much ! I'm going to buy one,,, Also the cobble stone looks amazing , have not seen that before. Is that available somewhere? Your camera work is wonderful. @@danadoan
Your video was great, well done...Wonderful village, you took such great care in putting it together. I love that it didn't have swinging, elevating, moving parts. 👍🏼👍🏼❤️🇨🇦
Thank you so much. I try to keep things simple and cozy. Those swinging and moving parts give me headaches so I try to avoid them. I only have about 3 houses that have motor parts in this collection. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
Wow! This is quite a beautiful collection to create this village! It almost makes me wish to be a collector of things or make a visit to the House on the Rock in Wisconsin where a collector of things once lived. Fun!
THIS is what a christmas display has to be! No Bling Bling lights, no flying Santa. Just a landscape that really could have been existed. In a time period which really was. It's an european display, I like these so much more than the most of the RU-vid presented from USA. Watch my little one...😉... And I see a lot of figurines here, I didn't know yet. Thanks for showing. At this time the best diorama I've seen this season.👍 Supplementle: I've seen you are from NY. So sorry, if I hurt you because I wrote something about american displays. It's Not personal, it's in generell. And you proves it: There are exceptions....
Thank you so much for your kind words. I don’t like blinging lights or flying Santa either. And I usually don’t mix different village collections (scale difference and different period clothing). For this Victorian London display, I only wanted to use pieces from Dickens Village collection. It eliminated the headache of making sure if that certain piece would belong or not. Haha don’t worry about your American comment. I usually like the European displays more with more emphasis on landscaping. (I wish I can do the same). Happy Christmas to you and your family. Cheers!!
