+e batdorf I stand by it when I say that using a dry shampoo with NATURAL ingredients really helps! I use herbal essence naked and I love it! One of the better cheaper dry shampoos!

Just use cornstarch. It's the most natural, cheap product you can use as dry shampoo--but be careful not to use too much! And no, cornstarch shouldn't make the roots look wet.

Try sea salt scrubs or ocean water on your scalp. Aloe vera helps a lot too. This is also great for people with a lot of product build up, not necessarily oily hair

I tried this style using a flat iron, and OMG! Don't try it. Seriously, I barely got any volume and my hair ended up being straighter afterwards. Looks like the only way to achieve this style almost exact is with a curling iron/wand (at least to me.)

Leave conditioner on for 20mins every other wash. Dry naturally no blow dryer. . Use foam rollers or hair twistys. Cut down on heated tongs etc.(she could get that look with mousse & rollers, no tongs).

Instead of using heat I just mist the ends of my hair and then use velcro rollers. Same effect no damage

Justine Nicole S she mentioned already it's so the hair can heat up....your hair can only be manipulated when its hot or wet...so that's why she heat it up first before putting it in the jumbo rollers.
