A table top review of the Pioneer Harvester - X by Victorinox.
A 4-layer knife, 93mm Alox Scaled Knife, similar to the Victorinox Pioneer, with a small pruning blade replacing the can opener, adding the woodsaw and Scissors.

- Victorinox Farmer (3 Layer): Replaces the pruning blade with the can opener and adds key ring.
- Victorinox Electrician Plus (3 Layer): Replaces the pruning blade with the Sheep-Foot electrician's blade.

Beautiful knife. Love the colour! I’d miss the scale tools though.

I carry an Alox (mostly Pioneer) and a Swiss Card in my wallet. I have the scale tools and a bunch of other useful small tools, but the "basic" tools are in a very robust but slim package. I love alox.

You could also pair it with a 58 mm on your key chain to have the scale tools as well.

The Farmer does have a wood saw. The Pioneer does not have the saw and the scissors (but a can opener). The closest related model is the Farmer X, because this is officially a Farmer X with a pruning blade instead of the can opener. "Harvester X" is only the inofficial name.

Is this a production model? I haven't seen it on the Vic website in the US. Also curious if the pruning blade could be modified into a more regular small blade or sheepsfoot blade. The only weakness of my Farmer X is the lack of a small blade. What I'd really love would be add a 5th layer to the Farmer X with a regular small blade and the sheepsfoot blade, since the can opener is such a good Phillips and Torx driver for light duty tasks.

Unfortunately, no. This was a club knife limited to 200pcs. I'm sure someone who does custom knives could build that knife for you.

Happy Sunday Stewie, thanks for the new video . I don't own a 93mm Harvester and have seen a gold alox one recently for sale on eBay from the swissjuice store for CHF 150 which is US $166 (plus $20 shipping), that for me is more than I willing to pay for one

I assume that's a Bugnard one. It's a Swiss company that used to offer that model (among others) for years, of course a lot cheaper than 150. But for a while they only have blue ones, so the gold ones are more sought after by collectors.

@@miklospinter Happy Sunday, the one on swissuice on eBay is advertised as new and has RIS NETZBAU AG engraved on its back panel so I am assuming that it is a sales promotion give away made for a company rather than one made for sale to the public by Bugnard.

I appreciate the view and support. I only have one knife with the package opener but, I'm sure we'll see it more in future models.
