Napalm Records is the Elevator Pitch record studio. Sabaton: "So we sing about history and war... but it's metal?" Gloryhammer: "So we're a metal band but our songs are mostly about our Monday D&d Sessions" VICTORIUS: "so we're metal as hell...but also super weeby so you can sell our stuff in Japan easily" WindRose: "I AM A DWARF AND IM DIGGING A HOLE! DIGGY DIGGY HOLE! Catchy right?"
Two years after first hearing it, I am still disappointed that "Dinosaur Warfare" (also by Victorious) is NOT the opening to an 80s saturday morning cartoon.
I need it to be opening for Drifters anime.. Because they are definitelly some samurais on steroids... static.wikia.nocookie.net/drifters/images/8/85/Drifters_Key_Visual_1.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20150401020159
@@sebking7902 Sure but Gloryhammer has had a lot longer to polish their skills and sound. The kids in this band have plenty of time to improve their sound.
Chris Bowes actually knows how to write a different song on occasion (just look at their impeccable album closers). Victorious's songs have no real deviation or experimentation: they're if DragonForce cut their songs in half and were what the memes said they were. Victorious isn't unenjoyable to listen to, but I only listen to albums because they're on prime music and can fill a half hour. Thank God Almighty we're getting a new Helloween album next year.
Eh, it's more like Bob Ross and Steve Erwin. They're both awesome, just in different ways. It's not fair to either to pit them against each other. And Beast in Black is more like Weird Al in this scenario. Also different and doing good work.
@SovietBiscuit Still i dont feel he can stand up to Hootsman in his current God form. Maybe if he kills Hootsman before he destroys Earth to save human life and by doing so become one with a paralel universe and near omnipotent in doing so but thats notoriously hard as we all know. Besides MISSILES OF NUCLEAR JUSTICE are always an option too
That was a fun song. If this isn't leading up to a crossover with DINOSAUR WARFARE - LEGEND OF THE POWER SAURUS, then it will be an opportunity missed. I mean, how can you not make an album of Space Ninjas fighting Cyborg Dinosaurs? It has to be done!
@@radscarletheart8883 Oh right, I forgot that once any band writes a song about a particular topic, there can never be any other songs about that topic again. Or maybe that notion is just plain silly. Who cares if another band already did a song on a similar line? I still want to hear Victorius' version of it as a proper album, should they ever be inspired to compose it. I'll give the NSP song a listen to see how it sounds, but I say there's plenty of room for more than one song about such outlandish subjects.
@@omniviewer2115 Ninjas, Knights, Vikings...what else can we throw in? Maybe tanks from the future, ala Sabaton...or if we want to get even more extreme, just make some Arnie-styled '80s action heroes as well, in some sort of awesome battle royale. I want my metal with MAXIMUM EPICNESS! Long live the cheese and the glory.
Lyrics A shadow faster than the light Like cosmic fire, his presence Is shining in the night Born from a high technology Too fast for human eyes to see A soldier made of cybersteel Create to kill the enemy By neutreon power He's ready to strike Can you feel the fire, See the anger in his burning eyes He's the Super Sonic Samurai By jetpack power he's ready to fly He's the Super Sonic Samurai Laser katana high up to the sky For the Super! Friend: Hey, what kind of music do you listen to? Me: Super Sonic Samurai, The Land of the Unicorns, Diggy Diggy Hole. Friend: Oh, sounds cute Me: Well yes, but actually no
You thought this was cheesy? Their previous EP is called Dinosaur Warfare: Legend of the Power Saurus. It gets even better when seeing the album cover ;)
Sabaton- History geeks. Gloryhammer- Roll for initiative. Brothers of Metal- Corny Vikings! NanowaR- Corny everything. Victorious- Yes, but also weebs.
Dragonforce + Gloryhammer = Another awesome Power metal band These guys must be geeks and anime fans. As a fan of anime and an admirer of Japanese culture myself, this is very appreciative. I'm a metalhead and a geek, and proud of it.
I want to see something like a "song battle" between these guys and Gloryhammer. Like pitting their characters and universes against each other or something. In song. Edit: Hammerfall's Hector needs to join in too.
... I think it's time we name this sub-genre "LARP Metal" or "Cosplay Metal". :D Fun song! Neo-Saban should hire these guys to make a Power Rangers intro.
@@buttersquids Actually Thomas did a song with Victorius once. It's called "dragonheart". Edit: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-c4dR4LQ_N6k.html
Opened this CD today and played it twice already. Love it! Love GloryHammer too. Room enough in this great big metal world to appreciate both bands. Heroes (Of Dundee) and NInjas Unite!
Well, when I was twelve, we had stuff like Tekkaman Blade/ Teknoman, and Samurai Troopers/ Ronin Warriors on broadcast tv. So yeah, I drew an armored arcane knight oc.
I personally prefer the style and direction of their songs like "Twilight Skies", but this sounds fun nevertheless, and guitar solo also delivers, so let's see what the full record will bring for us. :) And the singer is still good and going strong as always!
Ok so, why is nobody commenting how cheesy and glorious the anime fight with the super sonic samurai was? Just picture this mega cyborg weeb knight with flashing eyes fighting a bunch of sci fi ninjas all alone. I feel the song is actually a warning for any fool unwise enough to dare face the Supersonic Samurai one on one
This might sound strange, but... I think the chorus isn't big enough. A couple more layers of keyboards and background vocals would have done the trick. And the song isn't nearly as fun as everything in the Dinosaur Warfare EP was. The riffs, melodies and harmonies just aren't there in appropriate quantities. Let's hope the album is more inspired than this.

I would like to thank my weekly discovery from Spotify for introducing me to this gem. Everything about this speaks to the weeb in me: the name of the song, the name of the album, the music and the MV. As someone mentionned in the comments, Glorygammer are like the power metal DnD nerds and these guys are the power metal anime nerds. I love this
I have listened to shiroyama about 30+ times I dont know what people are talking about when they say the riff sounds like shiroyama am I missing something or do they not know what they are talking about
Was looking at Starfields backgrounds. I saw that there is Ronin. Description of the background is basically this song. I think my mind is decided. Thank you Victorious.
This sounds like the Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, Transformers and, of course, that epic TV advertisement of the 90's I've never seen but loved from all my 5-years-old heart!
So if we could get a crossover between all the goofy costumed power metal bands, like. Gloryhammer, Twilight Force, Power Glove, Wind Rose, these guys, etc. We could have a supergroup to rival Avantasia and Ayreon combined!
I saw these guys live a couple weeks ago in Frankfurt but the headliners were Majesty and their fans did NOT understand what was happening with these laser obsessed dinosaur weirdos (which I mean entirely as a compliment.)
Very dumb lyrics but I have a soft spot for this band. I love David's voice and Dirk's leads. I dont like your average power metal but really dig. Galneryus, Strato, Freedom Call, Bloodbound & Victorius
