I miss it too! I used to play the Hammond for JS. I am playing in this video. We're not to look backwards though, press on TOWARD the prize and high calling of God.
this is church wonderful congregational singing not a one man show worship team/band...love it when you can hear the congregation coming through...you don't get that today just loud music and light shows...
Hi Charlie, I am from south africa and I grew up with Jimmy Swaggart playing on a daily basis in our house and from a young age i fell in love with the lord and this music has such a special place in my heart. Today i am also playing the Hammond organ and boy were you an inspiration for me when i grew up ... i always said to myself if only i can play like that one day... Hehe i am still aiming for that maybe one day .. but i love the way you set the drawbars and how you use the leslie.
Hi Jaco, by chance I came across your post. I am also in SA and wrote to Charlie many moons ago and thanked him for his inspiration with the B3. The letter was still in an envelope addressed to Family Worship Centre whilst he was still playing for JSM. I always wondered what happened to the letter. I saw online that Charlie is now living in Oklahoma. Maybe one day I will have the opportunity to have a cup of coffee with him.
