Thanks to VR in my old town I was able to keep a job and understand what my managers were asking since I sometimes don't understand directions all the time.
Vocational Rehabilitation has been a huge help for me for several years. Unfortunately, my recent job ended I am sure because of the pandemic. I am so excited to start the process again so I can find a new job. My recent job got my feet wet. Now I know that I can work part-time for sure. My past job coach is going to be my job coach again. Looking forward to a new job opportunity.
Thanks for allowing me to join vr training, and walking with me on my new road of choosing work with the vocational rehab and Ticket to work program who referred to your program. Peace and blessings
I have no employment, a back injury from a slip/fall for which I have an atty, and no insurance. Will this be beneficial for me? I’m having a ton of trouble walking, clothes don’t fit (I literally have none that fit me, even a bra) and have mental disabilities. I have depression, panic attacks, social anxiety, anxiety with people of authority in the work place, and insomnia. I was on meds but no longer take anything because my doctor moved. He was on the verge of sending me to a psychiatrist as a last resort also because no meds work for my depression. I took benzos for panic and anxiety on a schedule but now can’t get those without a new doctor. I’m just so lost.
Thanks for sharing those information, I appreciate your effort in giving hope to individuals like myself who knows we have purpose but how to accomplish that goal in our present situation. I look forward to getting started.
I went through VR in the middle of the pandemic. I really couldn't get properly evaluated. I ended up as a result in a job that didn't suit me. I'm about to begin VR for the second time. I have full confidence it will work well this time. I have some realistic job goals I'm going to share with my counselor with an honest and open mind. I don't want to waste any time.
I have a question I’m new to this and I’m doing the attestation for for this orientation videos and it’s telling me to write the VR ID but don’t know what id their saying.
My case manager gave me this info because I have not worked in a year from a life changing car accident. However I am eager to get back to work as soon as possible. Great video on the process to get help.
I've been waiting to get back with vocational rehab after the coronavirus. I've been working with them prior and then just a matter of two weeks ago received a call from my counselor I don't want to mention names right now that basically said there was no more funding available to help me. I work very hard in opening an adult education center to help other people in my position and then was unable to open not knowing what to do with the equipment or anything I put everything in storage now everything's at my home. I'm very disappointed that I waited this long enough many messages to just get a call and said there's no more funding available. Where do I go from here?

I’ve heard it has to be in the county in which you live in. Hopefully someone else has answered this question for you since you asked this question it says two months ago.
I have a disability of ADHD and learning disability. OCD and anxiety . However I like to get vocational rehabilitation center to help me get my class a and b CDL for work . Can they help me go to say a month program to get this done ???
I have ASD and ADHD and anxiety,. I was recently discharged/fired for Publix for stealing. I'm hoping this program will help me understand I why I distance myself for people via breaking laws and push people away emotionally.
Just plain out state this is a service for people who have no means of using technology and are poor and you are there to help make those items available so someone can find work.... I need help finding work and have all items available necessary to find work but am unable to and have tried applying places and can't even get a job being a bagger at any grocery store....
The amount of unemployed people sucks and the amount of stupid people living off their job doing terrible work is annoying too. Hope you got a job by now. You deserve it, unlike a lot of other people.
I've been unable to work for 5 years. I was unsuccessful in getting disability. Can I use this service to document that I am unable to work? Or is this service only for people that have already proved they can't work, yet want to work?
You can be referred for VR services by anyone-including yourself! Please reach out to our Ombudsman Office at 800-451-4327 and 866-515-3692 and email Ombudsman@vr.fldoe.org. TTY users dial 711 to connect with TRS. Video phone users can call through the video relay service.
Watching this orientation is the first step on your journey with VR. You may be eligible for VR services if your goal is to become employed and: Your physical or mental disability interferes with your ability to become employed, and You need VR’s help to find or keep a job. After viewing the orientation video, you will need to sign an attestation form showing you have successfully completed your VR orientation. After completing the attestation form, reach out to your local VR Office at www.rehabworks.org/office_directory.shtml to take the next step on your journey to employment.
If you already have Disability Benefits and decide to do VR: The Social Security actually encourages that!! Also, (depending on your State, I think), I believe that they will allow you a 90 day trial to work and see how it goes. In Fact, it's Actually Even MORE Beneficial if you start through the VR!! I think they allow you to go at your pace. They also help with any accomodations. FOR BOTH: You're most likely to Keep your Disability Benefits as long as you stay below your State's Social Security Requirements (for example: less than $1,000/mo. if Single or $2,000/mo. if Married). This might also mean only working Part-Time. However, if the Social Security catches you working, they Can Remove your Benefits!! This is especially True if you decide to work Full-Time. This is also why I believe that starting out with VR can Actually Help you!! ---->> You can work at your own pace and Stop whenever you feel like it, especially if you feel you can't handle the Work Force. The Social Security: Seeing you work full-time or earning more than the Social Security limit means that you are more than able to work and provide for yourself and in the end, are no longer deemed Disabled. (or at least that's what They believe.)

Then what are you hoping to receive from Vocational Rehabilitation?? What is it that you need?? Perhaps there's something to your story that you don't realize as a disability of sort but may still be true. Remember, something doesn't have to be BIG to be considered a disability. Perhaps you're far behind from your peers and never learned the skills needed for work or life experience, like me?? (Although mine is due to having disabilities all my life and missing out so much) It can also be panic attacks, social anxiety, depression, hearing & vision problems, speech problems, etc. You don't exactly Have to be missing a limb or in a wheelchair to be considered disabled!! We All have our things!! There might be something you haven't taken too seriously. Maybe because people have belittled your pain in the past?? MUCH LOVE!!!! ❤️❤️💖💖
