This is the one video I keep going back to to watch and can't get out of my head. I actually love how you added in the singing as though she's a somber ghost remembering a life she wasn't ready to lose. The acting is PHENOMENAL, the angles, the editing, the story, plus how this came together to enhance the beauty of the song is beyond what I expected. I find zero mistakes and sheer raw talent makes this video my choice for #1.

Oh I wanted the contrast of white for innocence and black for evil. Light over darkness. That's why they were those colors. :)

I have to say this was amazing. I may not be a professional but I think the editing and acting was phenomenal, I love the 'memento' feel it has to it, and of all the videos, I keep coming back to this one. I can't get over how absolutely amazing this is, I can hardly put it in words! I know a lot of the people worked hard on their videos and while I do like a lot of them, I have to say this is my favorite. I wish you guys good luck in the contest, I feel like you deserve a spot =)

I suppose you could look at it in that way. When I thought up the video I wanted it to be as pretty as the dying flower that is the girl. Knowing the video would end in darkness, and it ends where she is alive. This the yin/yang. It's pure light when she's dead at the beginning, representing her soul is free from the torture she endured. But yeah it can be looked at in different ways, I mostly took guidance from the lyrics when making it.

At first i was shocked to see the cruel killing of a woman. After that, i shed some tears because of this very sad storyline. It is not real what we see in video, but we know that many women are killed by murderer every day. The victims are real, but we forget them. You made good job with this video because you remind us of that. And by the way the music fit very well with video. One of my favorites in this video contest

Yeah have a degree in film and Mario has done commercials for major companies, we both have experience in the field. Yeah teh latest Adobe Premiere is a fantastic editing software!

Gorgeous cinematography! It didn't feel very much like their past official videos, but it was still something that would fit nicely! Their new tracks were very different from their older pieces, so perhaps it fits even better! Either way, the story was simple and flowed wonderfully. I love how you drew everything back in time. Near the top of my personal list. Congratulations and I wish you the best of luck! c:

It was actually filmed in Dublin, Ireland. In regards to the relationship between the lover and the man, I like to leave it out to interpretation. :)

Ah now it makes more sense. It's interesting she's wearing a dress or not much coverage instead of wearing normal clothing so to speak? Perhaps it adds to the allure of him chasing after her, not sure. As you said this is open to interpretation. And I think that's the cool thing about an obscure storyline. It's also neat to know the creator's ideas as you shared. Thanks!

Wow, very very well made! It is dark with an interesting plot, however it doesn't entirely strike me as I'm watching this as "Oh this is a video for/from The Birthday Massacre". Maybe if there was some kind of symbol or just something that was from TBM it would tie it together as something "TBM" material, if that makes sense. Good job on the hard work though!

Just thought of this... but do you think this video romanticizes murder? :O I mean, I see the blood and knife, but she's singing about her death and the footage is pretty compared to grotesque.

I don't know... TBM seems to romanticize everything macabre, but not in a bad way. It's a great question though ,I guess it depends on your perspective when dying. Some prefer peace and beauty, others anger and justice, etc

She should not be singing while she is supposed to be a corpse on the ground. It does not have the effect you wanted. I bet if you remixed it and told it from the other direction it would have been better. The filming was really good. It is just a poor editing/directing choice.
