Just love all the technology in the cabs these days my worry is are there mechanics out there who can maintain them without long days in a workshop plugged into a computer. Happy New Year Simon looking forward to your updates over the coming hopefully dryer year
Thanks. Yes technology is certainly advancing at a rate! We have put our faith in our dealer to keep the wheels rolling! I’m sure they will look after us. 😊 Happy New Year to you to Bob, and I hope it’s dryer!
Just found your channel so have been binge watching it over xmas. I'm a JD fan, we have 6,7 & 8R'r. I was disappointed that you didn't lift the bonnets & show how easy they are to clean out & also the ease of access for the filters. Otherwise enjoying the content. You'll soon be giving Wardy a run for his money 😀😀😀
Thanks for your kind comments 😊. Yes I never looked at the servicing access, I probably should have done to be honest. I used to drive JDs most of my career and they are good to work on. Next weeks vid will see all JD’s Ploughing and drilling, I used to drive a 7r310.
All very nice but do we really need all this technology in a tractor ?, give me manual spools and a power shift gear box and I could do the same job just as fast with a lot less to go wrong, all the best for the new year 🎉
The inside of the cab is just getting too high tech for an old dinosaur like me now who isn't up with new technology as it's now a few years since i was in the driving seat. Too much expensive electronics for me to get to grips with and to go wrong. I think piloting the Starship Enterprise would be easier. But new technology keeps coming up with things to make life better for the operators. So much has changed over the years since I had to use a clutch pedal and shift a gear lever by hand. Electric everything for the hydraulic controls too. Maybe i am just a technophobic old dinosaur. Great to see you doing a detailed comparison of the two tractors side by side. Best wishes for the New Year to you and let's hope that this rain stops and things start to dry up for the start of 2024.
Thank you for your comments, yes technology marches on and we can’t stop it, so we have to embrace it and make the most of it if we are to keep up. Rightly or wrongly? Happy New year to you and yours, and here’s to a dryer 2024!
Yes that’s true, the JD was a good tractor, but the Fendt was better! After many years of driving both, the Fendt in my opinion is streets ahead of a JD, to many things to list, but the transmission is a key one.
A used to do farm work many years ago 956xl, 6610, 6930 , times when I watch all the technology on these modern tractors I automatically think how dangerous they are if your not up to it. Good post though
