yes. good video but no one mentioned that the mosfet was desoldered through normal use because the cooling from the motherboard itself is probably not the best at that point. It often happens when components are under a lot of stress and don't have enough cooling that they solder themselves out, slip or the flux is boiled out of the solder and the solder joint becomes brittle so it's important to use X Grade Rosin Liquid Flux underneath.
Your English is perfectly good. Its amazing how a company like Lenovo can let such serious errors slip though their quality assurance. They should recall these laptops. Thank you for your video.

Your English is good i know from old videos but may be you feel more comfortable with your main like everyone does :) So dont think about it, i'm watching your videos with subtitle since its enable before i was struggle. You have tons of knowledge on notebook repair thanks a lot for sharing. So can we call it design fault? Even if we replace the mosfet after a while i think it will fail again.

Hehh :D Vor 20 Jahren habe ich 2 Jahren lang Englisch gelernt, besser gesagt am Unterricht teilgenommen... das ist das Ergebnis davon... ich kann Englisch klingende Wörter random hinterinanderwerfen :)
Wenn ich es richtig verstehe muss man dazu noch folgenden chip TPS65994 tauschen. Erst dann bekommt der Mosfet die richtige Spannung? muss man diesen Chip noch programieren oder kann der einfach so getauscht werden? Vielen Dank für eine Antwort. Vielleicht noch ein zweites Video machen, wo Du genau darauf eingehst, wäre toll. Aber vielen Dank für Deine Hinweise und Hilfsbereitschaft.

Ooohhhhh, so because the gate voltage is being pulled down by that mosfet, it gets so hot that it melts the solder underneath it. The fault will come back if that mosfet is not replaced. I am surprised that the mosfet is not fully shorted normally they have a max temperature rating of 80-125C. Thanks for sharing this info :)

It is not normal use, the mosfet has been desoldered because the PD controller does not open the mosfet completely. But yes, the cooling is also bad here, the solder pads are very small. I always install an extra cooling pad here.
Ach, du meine Güte... ich habe in der Tat bei Sorin das Video ebenfalls gesehen, wo der Chip einfach an der Folie kleben geblieben ist. Jetzt mal eine dumme Frage.... was ist also an dem Model falsch? Warum werden die so schnell so heiß, das kann doch nie im Leben normal sein. Das erwartet doch man, wenn mehr Spannung durch einen Chip fließt, als er bewerkstelligen kann. Aber doch nicht bei 20V?
Also der Fehler ist nicht eine schlechte Lötverbindung von Lenovo sondern schlechte PD Controller die anscheinend ziemlich häufig kaputt gehen? Ist ja schon merkwürdig gleich zwei davon auf einmal zu sehen. So alt ist das Modell ja nicht....

@@SiETechNotebookReparatur ok Danke!! also muss man nur den PD Chip und die mosfets tauschen so wie ich das verstehe. Und meinste hält das dauerhaft oder eine Fehlkonstruktion von Lenovo. Neulich hatte ich auch einen lenovo wo so niedrigschmelzendes bismut lot verwendet wurde. dies könnte hier auch der Grund sein warum sich der eine mosfet entlötet hatte.
Der Titel des Videos sagt alles was nötig ist und Sorin, an den das Video gerichtet ist spricht kein deutsch. Warum also sollte dieses Video in deutsch sein?? Wem das nix sagt : Sorin ist ein bekannter RU-vidr, der vorwiegend Laptops repariert. Dieser spricht englisch und rumänisch.
😂 Was ein Glück das Du so mit den Fingern überall rumfummelst, da kann man sich das meiste bei denken wenn das das Wort MosFet fällt. Wenn man, wie ich , kein Wort Englisch kann, dann hat man es oft nicht leicht. Meist breche ich eh Videos auf Englisch umgehend ab - das bei dem gestotter bin ich ein klein wenig mitgekommen ;) Nur das Ende hab ich nicht kapiert. Geht nicht zum reparieren?
