Excellent points. I guess I woukd say that video games still lack the legitimacy ao the sources are few, but yes even in the biggest historic events we have contradictory stories. Furthermore there are times where accounts by individuals are all we have, leading to that wartime phrase "history is written by the victor." That was my point: I dont want to wade in that pool anymore, I just want to try and analyze as controlled an environment as I can. I will still research, but I'm not going to seek a new truth or validate the current one.

The greater gaming community is full of "know-it-all industry experts" these days, whose main source of information is their favourite RU-vidr. I've seen facts bent and twisted every which way in forums, after having been regurgitated and retold countless times.
