In this video, I discuss a method that anyone can use to budget for their video poker playing sessions at the casino. It is important to take breaks in between sessions and follow your budget according to your plan, especially if you lose. If you do win, I offer a few suggestions as to whether or not it is a good idea to increase the stakes and play at a higher denomination. Jacks or Better practice gameplay is included in this video!

I like the budgeting idea. I still make some mistakes in JOB. I have trouble in the following situations which I saw during your session. A. When to keep 3 cards to a straight flush. B. when to keep 4 high cards and go for a gut shot vs just keeping 2 or 3 high cards.

I am new to VP and this video helped me with the budgeting and which denom to start with on JOB or Bonus poker. I will definitely try this out next time I go to the Casino! Thanks for the info!

Great video, Ive seen other VP players tell you to start with more but your starting amounts seem about right. I play in Vegas all the time at the Rampart and do pretty well. But like anyone else I have some brutal sessions. Budgeting your bankroll is key.

A lot are basic, but makes sense as not many players gamble or regulars still have trouble budgeting and not chasing losses. I like the idea of moving up denominations. Just say if moving up means not using max bet then best not. What I like to do is divide up how many hands my bankroll pays for and then count down (win or loss) I stop at zero.

Great advice man I did the same experiment I started with $50 but on the 50c denom gridded it out and on the deal 167 I hit 4 jacks and end it up with $87 dollars. 167 deals = 417 dollars coin in it was great even if I were to lose the hall $50 dollars so I’m gonna follow your advice but do 50c instead of 25c denom

I will be chasing tier credits and decided on 96 JoB at $25/deal, which will take $60K coin in. Will $10K be enough bankroll?

Very good question. I had to do some research on this. Based on 1 article and multiplying their data accordingly to your situation, it seems that for 2,000 hands at $25/deal, a player should have roughly a $5,040 bankroll for a 5% risk of ruin... or a $6,260 bankroll for a 1% risk of ruin. In your case, you will be playing 2,400 hands, so these amounts will be slightly higher. I think $10,000 is sufficient. Good luck! 👍

@@ClubMikeV thank you for spending the time to research. This is very helpful. Thinking of taking $10K + $2K extra, just in case. Hoping I don’t lose more than $2K buy deep inside I want that Royal Flush for that winning session but not expecting it.
