This is the second sensible comment on this video. American Blacks (ADOS) have been critical in the liberation of Africans since the early days of emancipation. However, Africans have done next to nothing for us. Even today, the average African immigrant in America has some 20x the wealth of ADOS - and they stay sequestered in their ethnic communities while simultaneously using "Blackness" to abscond resources that belong to ADOS. Pan-Africanism my ass.
@@TheBLACKboard65 continental Africans come to the west/USA to get the bag by any means necessary...they ain't trying to help ADOS from the continent nor help us fight racism once they arrive in western yte controlled countries - i say Blacks moving from the West to the continent should exploit it just like arabs, asians, europeans, indians and other Africans do!..pan africanism is a hustle and j-o-k-e being played mostly on ADOS!
@@ehzAxemuzik - I wholeheartedly agree and have said this for decades. ADOS is a VERY peculiar people. We hold everyone but ourselves in our hearts and fight others' battles even before our own. I believe these attributes are gifts from God. That said, we are also very gullible as a collective and unwise to the schemes of the world. There is no people like us. In this new age, we need to focus solely on repairing and building up ourselves. Anything done for others should come with a benefit analysis first. If there is no benefit, we don't do it.
@@TheBLACKboard65 yes, we are peculiar yet a very confused people..identity is the key to our success, but we are so scattered that anyone can be "us"!!!..and we are allowing it happen..if ADOS is not careful they will disappear because no one is "LOOKING UP" at the meteor that will soon crash through the door - and it won't be knocking!
@@ehzAxemuzik - You right about that! And, WE will suffer most with this planned famine that is already evident. Other groups have sources outside the mainstream, we don't. They will close their doors to us as they always have and we will be ass out - unless the LORD intervenes.
When you say patriotic you mean like patriotic fighting for the US? I fail to see how US patriotism was massively helpful to the Ethiopians; as the Ethiopians were fighting Italy and the US wasn't allowing its citizens to up arms against a country that it sought to maintain good relations. Am I reading to far into this?
Yes.... huge shout out from America to Ethiopia 🇪🇹. I know Wongel.... we are a global community. I will never stop saying that. Peace to you my sister... blessings to you and your family. AFRICA UNITE 🌍
@Marc. Yes I am also a proud African American man (American African lol) and I love and will always support my fellow brothers and sisters in Ethiopia and all of the black world for that matter! Black Americans; we Love Ethiopia! we all must unite and while we acknowledge some of our differences (location-culture) it’s paramount that we celebrate our similarities and commonalities! We are ONE people!! ❤️ 💪🏿 💪🏿 💪🏿
I think that it was more complex than that. They also was aware that Ethiopia was and still is the only country on the continent that was never colonized. Even Jamaicans 🔥 did the same too.

The only difference is that we are born and raised in different Countries, we are all Black people by blood, sure there are some fools with difference of opinions, but the vast majority of us love all of our people. I saw that clip and others when I was in high school back in the early 80's, if we ever put aside the petty tribal differences and ignorance, and UNITE as one people, we become a powerful people...B1
My father was in the U.S. Army during World war II and i asked how could he put his life on the line for white America he said he didn't he went to Africa to fight with Ethiopia against the Italians i was shocked with his response to my question and that made me proud and now seeing this video for the first time confirms my fathers telling why he fought and volunteered wow.
I'm Haitian and this video brought some tears to me too. We have a Haitian diplomat that did some great things to help Ethiopia. I'll communicate to this channel host so maybe she could highlight it one day. One love Haiti 🇭🇹 ❤ Ethiopia 🇪🇹
Here's why...... 1. For two centuries while American( and Diaspora) blacks were humiliated, Ethiopia stood. 2. That led to the partnership that created the Abysinnia Baptist Church. 3. That led to American blacks volunteering to be called Ethiopians. 4. That led to a black man to become the personal doctor to Sahle Mariam, Menelik II. 5. That led to a small contingent of BA to repatriate after the coronation of Haile Selassie I. 6. That led to pitched battles in the streets with Italian Americans in Harlem during the invasion of 1935. 7. We have and always will stand with Ethiopia 🇪🇹
As a born Jamaican living in the states we were always taught to love Ethiopia and we have always felt a connection to Africa and would willingly give our lives in her defense.
I am African American and as a child I read about Africa and always had a connection to it. The Tarzan rhetoric did not phase me because I read books about Mali, Timbuktu, Egypt and other African countries. I always had that sense of pride of having African blood. Hi Wongel! I already knew that many African Americans identified with Ethiopia during WWII, however, I had never seen that video. Thank you for sharing!
African Americans have always been willing in history to fight for black folk globally but it was never reciprocated....now many have lost that. We need to unite globally as ONE BLACK FAMILY. I am PAN AFRICAN, Garvey is my hero.
Teach Sis, the black world needs to show us love, but still many suck up to WS. I remember as a kid, we use to black called lazy Black Americans by the parents of the same people on this post.
African Americans have always been willing in history to fight for black folk globally but it was never reciprocated???....REALLY.....I always knew of Harlem NY blacks signing up to fight for the Abyssinia/Ethiopia way before this presentation.......95-99% African Americans don't know anything outside of their own Black History.....Explain to me how African Americans been willing to get off their living room couch to fight globally for others Blacks??
@@MrEzee777 Also, the US army did not allow black men to fight for Ethiopia, no matter the large amount of black men that signed up to help. I see that my explanation was deleted. Very strange.
John Robinson, one of the Tuskegee airmen volunteered to fight with Ethiopia. He was one of the major reasons why they won that war. I read that he taught them how to fly those planes and how to use different tactics for fighting a war. Many Ethiopians were in concentration camps being starved , raped and tortured. They needed help. Does anyone know if there is a statue in Ethiopia of John Robinson or any thing given homage to the people who came to give their lives to help them.

I love that you shed light on some of the long history between African Americans & Ethiopians. My first step in Africa was Ethiopia. I make a lot of videos on Africa on tiktok, in my journey of re learning the culture. Most experiences I have are love but many people still troll me from horn countries. They say I’m just a slave and there is no way we could have crossed paths historically. I’ve done genetic testing and I’ve had Ethiopia show up as much as 18% on a calculator. Regardless, I’m very Pan African & I hope to spend more time in Ethiopia.
I am glad we have you as voice of africa from Ethiopia! we need more Ethiopia like you who embrace pan-africanism and spread the idea! I just found this channel for the first time and i am here to stay. keep up the good work.
But Black Amerikkkans are rejecting pan Africanism. They have created hate groups like ADOS,FBA,MAGA,Hebrew Israelites, Copper Colored Aboriginal etc just to reject Africa and fight Africans. They are not our people anymore.
@Thems Look up the moron Tariq Nasheed, he has posted so much racist shit against Africans, it's why many Africans have unfollowed him coz of his black Amerikkkan bigotry. He started a hate group called FBA and he has publicly humiliated Africans,he is a misogynistic bigot. So black Amerikkkans are not our friends anymore, ignore the video made by this host, she is just sucking up to black Amerikkkans to boost her algorithm, she blatantly ignores their xenophobia.

I agree. Neither Africans nor African Americans were told the true story about each other by the mainstream media. They presented the worst narratives to both sides (Africa as poverty and famine continent and African Americans as criminals and thugs). They never show that back in the day, there was strong will amongst African Americans to fight for freedom. These men were volunteering to defend the only free country in Africa to stop the Italy attempt to colonize Ethiopia. That is heroic. On the flip side they never show African Americans that African is the true land of opportunity. Why do you think the U.S. and China are battling to stake alliances within Africa. That’s where all the natural resources are. That’s where the next powerhouse like China can begin, given the population size, the land size, etc. Together we rise, divided we fall!!!!
I had just found out about terry afro, and I was listening to his music and it sent chills through me!!! Ethiopians are strong warriors, my family and I learning about 1896 against the Italians! I was talking to my family about visiting Ethiopia and I came upon this video ❤️🥰
I love Africa. Especially Ethiopia. I am African -American and there is much to love not only about the people and culture but also that Ethiopia has strong Christian faith and strong ties to Christian history which is alive and well. I plan to visit an Orthodox Church in my city soon and have already began learning Amharic through an app. The next step would be to possibly visit/move there.
My dear sister not much has changed. There are still African people around the world that will still fight if necessary for the mother land, including me. War is never the answer to the solving problems, however defending Ethiopia and mother Africa is a must.

Thank you Wongel and Tariq Nasheed for showing this to us. We need to see more actual positive and proactive information like this to help reprogram our mindsets. I’ve known for some time that there have always been some black folks with their heads on straight down for the Pan-African cause since Marcus Garvey. However, I had no idea this existed. There’s always gonna be some pushback from people within the family and outside that want to keep us divided. The media loves to showcase the negative about Africans and black people in the Diaspora. However, I’m glad to see this is still exists. It gives me more hope for the future. They want us to go back to Africa, just not like this. 😂 We are one great tree with the same roots just different branches.
As an African American, I say that...I am you and, you are me, and, together,...we are ONE!! The Europeans want us to think that we are separate people. BUT, know that, we as people have NEVER, completely lost contact. communication with each other!! NEVER!! We were in contact, during the Haitian war, in 1804 and BEFORE this!! AND, know that, we are in COMPLETE support of Ethiopian NOW, during the Trigray conflict!! A conflict initiated by the West!! AND whether we see it or not....AFRICA IS RISING!! Thank you, my Sister!!
Hi my beautiful sister, the name Africa is a European name, it came from a Roman General called Publius Comlius Scipio Africanus . Before that Africa was called Ethiopia or kush.
I already know about that video and the history behind it. That's why Selassie I set aside Shashamane as a gesture to the Diaspora for taking up the cause for Ethiopia. Also, to this day, the Ethiopian government honors John Robinson for participating in the Ethiopian Air Force.
Since the genesis of man, the black persons have been a target for their intellect and ability to independently sustain themselves. That is why we will forever be held against one another. They started with our spirituality and now the Chinese want to try their luck on our sacred continent but anyways, viva viva we will realize our potential
The prime Minister does not speak for all Ethiopians; that was some time ago, people can learn and change; be more forgiving to our own than to those that oppress. The only thing that matters now is that our people must B1. 👍
Yes!!!! Wongel you have the video!!!! True. I believe the reason that the volunteers were not able to actually go to Ethiopia was because of obstacles that the U.S. gov put up to maintain their geopolitical position in the fight. They didn’t want to upset their relationship with Italy or something.
A great post! There's a book called; The Black Eagle. It's the story of a pilot named Herbert Fauntleroy Julian. Another pilot was Col. Robinson. Both were African American pilots that flew for Emperor Selassie during the war. Amazing Stories in an Amazing country!

read: "The Man Called Brown Condor" By Thomas E. Simmons. It is about the African American Pilot, John C. Robinson, that trained Ethiopian Pilots and Soldiers during the Italo-Ethiopian War in 1935. Of Course Western Powers realized how POWERFUL African Americans unifying with African Nations would be, they did not televise this, only swept it under the rug.
I'll Always Love Ethiopia but somebody needs to change that prime minister for those harmful remarks he just made about African Americans being stuck in the past! Especially when we're over here fighting for Ethiopians and all Africans every single day while also facing our oppressors directly on a daily basis how dare he have the nerve to speak about Black Americans in that way
Don't forget John C Robinson, from Florida who joined Ethiopian Air force during 2 world War and died in ethiopia March 27 , 1954. Big respect on behalf of all European nations
Foundational Black Americans have always been the first to stand up in defense of other black skin nations, particularly Africa. As this video shows, this valiant characteristic goes back a long time. I am proud of this fact.
Those who don't want us to unite i feel sorry for them. being brainwashed by the system is no child's play. we don't loose hope on our people they will come around once they see what we are really fighting for they will thank us. the struggle for Mama Africa continues. we the youth of Africa are in control of our future as 1 continental body. Africa will not fall on our watch.
Young lady I am glad to have seen this video. I am glad to know that as an Ethiopian you take the attitude of unity. The reason I say this is because most of my first hand experiences as an African American with Ethiopians where I live have been negative. This began way back in the 1970s when some first came to live in San Diego where I live. Even recently, my brother went to An Ethiopian restaurant and was given the most rude treatment. So most of my first hand dealings with the culture have been negative. Even my daughter at college met with rude behavior. Because of this, I have decided to avoid engaging with the culture. So seeing this video was interesting and I am glad to see no one else seems to have met with the behaviors my family has. Sometimes meeting Africans from the continent have been uneasy, I am speaking first hand with Nigerians, Somalians and Ethiopians. Just my experiences. Trust me, I have always wanted to make friends with anyone from the Continent as I felt like that is family, so you can imagine how hurtful it has been when encountering mean people. Keep up the good work and I hope we all can come together with utmost unity for our future.
After reading the comments and watching several videos this is the first time I've become aware of friction between African Americans and Africans. I've never experienced or seen any of this and all the Black (African, African Canadian, Caribbean) and colored people (Asian, Hispanic, Arab, Indian) in my town get along. We've always stood by each other and defended each other. No problems ever. Maybe its just where I grew up? I grew up in a small , uneventful town in Canada. Thats probably why.
Thank you for this my Sistren. I am Pan African. The ONLY country I would fight for is the MOTHERLAND of AFRICA. DO NOT believe the hype that African Americans do not love Africa. That is our Mother. I love this video!!!!!! Rise up my people. Rise up.

Have you ever heard of Etrieans? They are simply Ethiopians that fought to separate! Need Ethiopia? Not even for a roll of toilet paper!
I feel that as a Foundational Black American I have experienced of how black immigrants look down on my people. I don't think black immigrants would do the same in terms of uplifting Foundational Black American people. My ancestors of America were tortured, built and died for America. They laid down the foundation for many immigrants to reap the benefits off of the backs of their struggle. It's not fair that even our kinfolk from the homeland would take on a similar mindset of white supremacists and think that even they are better than us. We are the true warriors in the struggle against the injustices that America does against us and hopefully my people will unite against all others who on the side of evil. RIGHTEOUSNESS will be victorious
Well put my brother. ADOS have fought and each forced or went by the rules. Should pay tribute to black people in the USA to make it possible for the generational immigrants. But they are not, their grand and parents neglect to teach them this historic fact,🤔
Man, F U C K all that divide & conquer ADOS and FBA crap. Them Ofays playing yall for STUPID, yet again. Smh. When will yall stop falling for the SAME Divide & Conquer tactics they used against our Ancestors?
Thanks for sharing with yr followers. I only heard of the Italo-Ethiopian War 5/6 yrs ago. There are 2 great books: (1) Prevail; by Jeff Pearce, (2) The Man Called Brown Condor; by Thomas Simmons, that go into depth about the conflict with segments about how African Americans were thwarted by the US State Department w/forfeiture of citizenship if they went overseas to support the Ethiopian cause. The Brown Condor was a Black pilot named John Robinson, who forfeited his US citizenship and became commander of King Selassie's Air Corps during the war. I was given a new sense of pride in my people on both sides of the Atlantic after reading these 2 books.
