Video shows Colorado storage facility fire, smoke blowing onto Interstate 70

A fire started at a storage facility along Interstate 70 in the western part of the Denver metro area. It's called StorQuest Self Storage and it is located in Arvada, just west of Wadsworth Boulevard. See video from CBS Colorado's news helicopter.

I'm kind of surprised they didn't get a Ladder Tower in operation. Positioned correctly, a tower like that would be able to knock down this kind of fire. My hunch is that the access for fire trucks was EXTREMELY limited.

I do wonder why there are no ladder or tower units deployed already? Or ventilation holes made? Is the roof structure unsafe? (It took nearly 15 minutes to get one going).

I used to meet a truck on Fridays right at I 70 and buy bulk potatoes and pinto beans to live on back in the late 70's. I can't remember the interchange but it was in Arvada
