Curious if the media would have more to say if it was a random jacked white guy who punched out James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman? This reminds me of the Rick Moranis attack in NY a few years ago. Yeah, I'm going there.
Mental Illness Hate Crime. Substance abuse and mental illness is a huge problem in our country. A hate crime has very clear criteria that accompanies the violence -NYC-gov site. Was Lauren Pazienza shoving 87-year-old Barbara Gustern in NYC a hate crime? I saw no immediate declaration of a hate crime for that act. We see what people are attempting to do = FAIL.
Someone like Steve Buscemi who has done so much for NYC not only from the attacks on 9/11 but after. It is sad that we have seen so much hate, difficulty and hatred in just the last few years. I hope this country can overcome all its hurdles.

People…pay attention to what’s going on around you. Especially in a place like NYC. The guy in blue is in a protected class and is authorized by the city to commit crimes at will.

No one deserves to be randomly attacked on the street. Of all people tho, dang, why Steve Buscemi. A guy who's only ever given us joy, pleasure, laughter, insight. His statement after he was attacked tells you everything about him--he uses the statement to express support & sorrow for others who have veen victims of a random attack. Get well soon, Mr Buscemi. New York City has a problem. The mayor can say "crime is down" all he wants but the fact is these type of random attacks do not happen in many other places, at least not to the extent they are happening in NYC. It seems like every other day we're hearing about random attacks in NYC.

It was 43 months ago. But that was a familiar story: “The 35-year-old suspect now faces his 7th assault charge this year.” In August 2022, he was sentenced to 2 years in prison. So he probably is already out.
Considering the news focuses on black men during election season while all of the Don Steven McDougals just vanish from even liberal streamers, news outlets, pundits et cetera as they benefit with massive view counts during republican presidencies, I'm never surprised during election season. Mr. Buscemi is a fabulous actor and didn't deserve this, nor anyone else this has happened to. The criminals who think that this is acceptable should be put away for an extensive amount of time. I'm glad Steve is doing better from his injuries.
i noticed that too... even so much as refusing to put Titles such as "Black Man Murders White Man"... but they have no problem at all titling it "White Man Murders Black Man"... none at all.
Yet, it’s the hardest place to own a firearm. People being randomly attacked, assaulted, robbed etc. how long? We can’t even defend ourselves without it being a crime.

It's been a while but I've been to Manhattan, the place is crowded with people, alot of tourists too. You don't feel afraid because your surrounded by people
