The brain can't process input as fast as the implosion happened. Before they would've realized it, their organs were compressed mush already. Of course we dont know if they heard or saw signs beforehand. This will remain a mystery.

It's probably all packed tight in the pressure bulkhead. The force of the water hammer drove everything against the rear shell so hard it looks like it broke most of the bolts loose from the mounting ring!

Tapping was supposedly from the pressure slowly increasing and the hull giving in, they even released some of the extra weights thinking it was for going down too quickly, but no one is able to hear and avoid implosion. The moment the limit was reached, they were crushed like a soda's can and felt nothing, our brains are unable to feel that quickly.

Navy heard the implosion but with held the data until the search was concluded. They couldn’t risk saying titan was destroyed only for it to be found floating a week later.

No phone or camera would survive that implosion. I doubt much is left of the people, their clothes, and belongings. The force of the implosion is like being in a diesel cylinder in an engine. First the air ignites , then the pressure crushes In until it explodes and the water pressure prevents the explosion from pushing outwards much. We can't even imagine the force generated by all that. Thankfully for the people inside it all happens so fast they don't even have time for their brain to realize what happened.
