I'll still sit in the west endzone, sec 15 row 40, if you don 't mind, so I can watch the plays develop. Maybe with a new OC I will not be able to tell 90% of the plays, at least pass or run, by the formation.
Looks pretty good, though the seats are still quite a distance from the sidelines to allow for a track around the field. The peristyle with its Olympic torch is just too historic and enduring to remove so they had to put in special seating in the east end for better viewing. Nice special box seats and season ticket holder lounges. The seats themselves are now painted cardinal red from the maroon colors since I can remember. They retained the old Tunnel in the west end which is also good and keeping with the USC Heritage and Tradition. Now if only USC can bring back the powerhouse football teams of old the picture will be complete.
I wasnt much of a fan of putting the pressbox/club seats in the middle of the stands, but it came together VERY nicely! Thank you so much for posting this Scott. Well done. Fight On Men Of Troy ✌
My dad stopped working here just before the renovations plans were released. He started in 1971 and he always tells me how active the stadium was in the 80's he really loves this place. I remember when I was in high school my dad, mom and me would go wash the carpets in the sports arena, the old press box, and the locker room. Thanks for the video I'll show my dad tomorrow.
we could call it the 'Whoa Nellie' suite -- he actually didn't like us so much as ucla, but even Dan Fouts and he had to admit Pete Carroll's squads had it together.
Ray Tokumoto just can’t wait until the rams get their own stadium because the field looks like trash for the abuse it takes week in and week out. Also would love if they put more deeper color on the logo on the field so it can pop. Looks great
Bruh. Could they have moved the press- box up higher?🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ like the Rose Bowl?! We really lost 16,000 seats😩😩😩. Now we aren’t the biggest in Cali....🤦♂️
315 mil could buy you a a low end pro sports team like the Tampa Bay Rays. Then u could relocate and make 3 times your investment because the Rays actually win a lot, but in LA, 315 million gets u some cup holders, shady WiFi and some suites. They were wise to sell those suites with a 20 yr commitment cuz who knows where our program is headed as long as Clay and Swann are running the ship.
Lou Zer You may be right. Helton’s a nice guy but USC needs something more to get back on track. My cousin and I thought Pat Haden was disappointing and an absolute disaster as Athletic Director. His hiring of alcoholic Sarkissian was the last straw as far as we were concerned. I’m sharing this video with my cousin. We’re giving Swann one more year to show something. On top of football where the hell did the baseball, swimming and track and field programs go?? Hope to hear from you again, Lou.
Omg there's haters. To maintain and renovation that's show the passion.1932 till now that's a major issue. ONE MORE Thing to go retractable roof.Coming soon rite.
I hate they left them seats behind the endzone.... They should have brought the seats back, when they were in front of the peristyle, instead of letting them stay steps...
This was long overdue. It's a shame the Rams and Chargers felt the need to build a new stadium when this one is finally modernized. I wonder what it would have taken to make the Coliseum suitable for the NFL again. Even more luxury boxes? LED ribbon boards encircling the whole building?
At the 12:02 mark there is an obstruction of the field from the Galen Suite...did you make mention of that to the tour guide? It looks spectacular from the video that was shown.
I have never been inside one of those suites so I'd like to see a side by side comparison of pictures before and after the renovation. My hunch is it probably looks similar.
very nice to see ! everything really came together great and now the Coliseum with its long history and heritage has been made fit for the future has has been transformed into a magnificent 21st century cutting edge sports venue without abandoning its classic beauty and character.
