Today we're taking a look at two video village setups for independent filmmakers!
If you're unfamiliar, video village is an area on set where monitors are set up so the specific crew members can watch the camera - usually via a wireless video monitoring system.
Our first video village setup features the Hollyland Cosmo 600 Wireless HDMI transmission system and the FeelWorld P173-9HSD 17.3" monitor. This is definitely a pricey setup, but it is super reliable, especially if you intend to pull focus wirelessly.
Hollyland Cosmo 600: amzn.to/31drOGV
Feelworld P173-9HSD: amzn.to/31iKwN4
Our second video village setup is definitely the more budget-friendly version, which uses the Hollyland Cosmo 300 HDMI transmission system and a FeelWorld P133-9HSD 13" monitor.
Hollyland Mars 300: amzn.to/3i1L1C4
Feelworld P133-9HSD: amzn.to/2EKC8yp
Tilta Nucleus Nano: amzn.to/2D7iFHX
Other monitors to potentially use as director's monitor or camera operator's monitor:
Feelworld UltraBright (2200 nit, 7 inch): amzn.to/2PliiMh
Feelworld FW703 (7-inch): amzn.to/2DBgETW
Viltrox DC90: amzn.to/31k0OWl
Feelworld F6: amzn.to/33mLYkh

What a great detailed explanation. I could use a rundown of the parts of a set. Like just video village blew my mind. And cheese plate made me laugh, but I can definitely see the importance!

Thanks so much man! Glad you enjoyed it. Breaking down different crew positions isn't a bad idea for a video actually! I'll put that together for a future video of filmmaking 101! Cheeseplates are a funny name, and also very frustrating when you're looking to buy them online and you just get plates of cheese as results.

Admittedly all of this is far beyond what I do...but two things that stood out to me are the cheese plate. You can attach anything, huh?! Also, I like the idea of pulling focus wirelessly. Another great video

This was insightful because I have always wondered how that actually works because for me and this maybe still be true but I pictured all directors and producers just sitting behind the camera crew and watched everything play out.

It's neat to see how things work behind the scenes of filmmaking! I love the way you show the items so professionally on that turntable! I can't even imagine how much money you've spent on all your equipment over the years. I doubt it's as much as my husband spends on fishing equipment however...MEN! Totally joking. Great video as always!

Yes, another video of GEAR!!! Hey Wes, that ring is looking super sexy on your hand... getting used to it yet? Honestly, I feel naked without mine. Anyways, I love all the techy stuff. And I never knew the directors area was called Video Village. I wonder where or who made up that one. Jeez, a ton of HDMI out to HDMI in talk going on here. Many different price range setups... but it's probably extremely useful and vital on the set. I said this before and I'll say it again, being in that flock with all those moving parts has to be fun and stressful. A production crew sounds like something I'd enjoy. Great work as always... can't wait to sport my Thinking Art Entertainment shirt! Take care.... keep em coming 👊👍
