Luca Perasi (author, “Paul McCartney: Music Is Ideas-The Stories Behind The Songs (Vol. 1) 1970-1989”) returns for Part 1 of an interview discussing Paul McCartney’s music in the first decade of his solo-career, including his success with his solo-music and with his band Wings. We will do a followup interview later covering Paul’s music of the 80’s.
The new book is an incredible resource with background information on all the songs Paul released during this time period, along with recording dates, recording studios used, full musicians’ credits, and the engineers and producers for every song. It’s an absolutely essential book for any McCartney fan! It's now available as both a softcover and hardcover book!
In this conversation we discuss some lesser-known facts about individual songs, and what we’ve learned about Paul’s songwriting and recording process. We both share our opinions on why we admire Paul’s talent and catalog so much.
