Where is your humanity And your sympathy and concern for the people that were killed from the😢 bridge? The media is spending more time about the bridge and not those that were on the bridge.
Bottom line : This accident should not have taken place. Poor judgement period & the owner of the cargo carrier needs to be accountable. No excuse in this day & time. Sorry for the souls lost if any. No excuse.

@@deborahkoller9463 The bridge was built in 78, it's not that old at all. But the State should've put protection in front of the piers. Furthermore, ships have to move 24/7. I'm not sure how daylight would've changed anything, but probably caused many many many more deaths

It was having electric problems in port,so why wasn't it shadowed by tugs when it left the dock,and made sure it got through the bridge safely.Incompentense in the first degree.
Cause it passed inspection before it departed and deemed sea worthy. These ships go through inspection upon arrival and prior to departure. Much like truckers having to do pre trip and post trip inspections.
All that are affected by this, my gosh, must be tens of thousands considering there are cars and boats without passage, and it's gonna be a while. All that cargo, perishable goods, new cars that will be not delivered on time. And all those ships now trapped in and out of the harbor.

Idk about that. My friends and I got into a car crash (car completely totaled). When I called 911 I was bleeding from my mouth and didn't know it was just from a busted lip. The cop that responded canceled the ambulance because we said we didn't really need it.
They'll probably pull the whole thing back to shore. But they need to remove the debris thats surrounding it and on top of it. Now they've got to get the big cranes out. But assess the safety of moving all that metal. Plus being mindful of any bodies that may still be there. 😢

I'd say Savannah, and Charleston handle the most, with two major Auto manufacturing facilities located in Chattanooga , and the Georgia/Alabama border just West of Atlanta. And they're both further West than Baltimore, with better Interstate access. Yep, once again Biden is lying to America. I'm pretty sure the Wilmington,.NC port handles more TEUs than Baltimore. He's just trying to get the Government to fund 100% of the cost to rebuild this bridge,.because Maryland is too broke to fund it. He needs to get the owners of that ship to fund that bridge. The only people on the bridge at the time of impact were the highway workers. Total of 8 2 were rescued. 2 were recovered and 4 still buried under rubble per last NTSB press briefing.
They had 1 hour and 24 minutes to call for tug boats which is required by law to see the large carriers past the ports and bridges They had 1 hour and 24 minutes to drop an anchor. They hay 1 hour and 24 minutes to close the bridge. Even a 3rd grade cave man can figure this out. This act of terrorism came straight from ziden.

Would a sloping barrier around the columns stop the ships momentum? The ship would have to slide up the barrier moving against gravity with a barrier in front of the bridges column.
How much time between this mayday call and the collision? Where is the ship captain? What does he say? How soon will the debris be cleared up allowing ships to pass?

I don't know what kind of seems weird and if you look at the video there's so much time why didn't they drop the anchor and it looks like the power came on before it hit the bridge
They did drop it you dope. The emergency generator came on which does not allow them to use the rudder. There wasn’t a lot of time to stop when you think of how heavy that ship was and the momentum behind it going 8 knots.
The six victims have been found the bridge was built in the '70s The cargo ships were much smaller if it were to be built today it would not be up to code when they rebuild it they'll have to build it to withstand the size of cargo ships today. The black smoke was them trying to throttle back it was not an explosion

No! Are you one of those? Conspiracy theorist? That ship was loaded superbly with the exact correct amount of containers containing the exact correct contents. How do you think it knocked down one of the world's longest bridges and didn't lose one container?
Port will be open in a few weeks once they clear the channel of the debris. The bridge will take years. The skyway in Tampa suffered similar fate and it took a total of 7 years from collision to completion of new bridge.
Hopefully they can put in a temporary ferrys boat until it gets rebuild for the the bridge fixed so these folks can go to work and the current president can help expedite that process to minimize the damage and help facilitate the process
Thankfully that number seems to be in the single digits. The ship sent off a mayday right before the collision and they were able to clear the bridge because of that. There were some construction workers still on the bridge unfortunately, but all ingoing traffic had been stopped thankfully.

"Accident waiting to happen ! Where are the protective pylons? You know concrete islands filled with dirt, like practically every other bridge! Any shipping lane Bridge MUST have protective burms/islands to protect from just this. Any suspension bridge is vulnerable in the entire suspension and the counter leavers... see how it is one unit. Mess with any part of it and it all goes down. Simple cheap triangle (like the bow of a ship) should be in front and behind (both directions) of Every support and counter leavers. In short this could have, should have been averted... no excuse!!

Where was the br😢bridge worker when this cargo ship was getting aligned to pass & the cameras that are in place to avoid any miss guide through. Sorry.....this should have been avoided.
