Judging by the van and the mechanism of injury, the seat would not have saved him. This was going to be a fatal either way. The only thing that would have saved him would habe been if he weren't stupid and drove drunk.

This news lady almost sounds like she is excusing the drink drivers actions because of the traumatic circumstance that have occurred when he was alive? My father also died of pancreatic cancer; but you don't see me out driving the streets 3 X over the alcohol limit (note that in Australia the BAC limit is only 0.05.....not 0.08!)

The folks that shout and protest to defund the police should work a traffic accident like this one, and ones worse when children with torn bodies are the casualties. The stress that our first responders are exposed to is as great as those on any battlefield. Try to imagine carrying those images in your mind home every night.

I question having a blood-alcohol level as stated. Several bottles were smashed during the accident getting alcohol all over the body. His body was basically ground into hamburger meat. Any toxicology report would be tainted by such a mix. Did he have a drinking problem? Who saw him before he left for Las Vegas and was he drinking at that time? My mother once was an alcohol salesman and was involved in an accident while transporting 30 bottles of high end stuff. A lady had a medical incident and hit her while she was stopped at a light back in Atlanta GA. When the police arrived they smelled the alcohol and had the mind that it was a DUI although the other woman was quickly transported to the hospital. The put my mother in handcuffs and drove her to the hospital for blood work. The doctor could smell the alcohol all over her but on further examination told the police that she wasn’t even a little bit intoxicated. The bloodwork took days and she was booked at the time. They gave her a blow test but she was soaking wet from the broken bottles and although it cam back negative they arrested her anyway. Eventually the charges where dropped when the tests came back clean. The charges were dropped. She was able to keep her job for a while. Unfortunately Kenny’s body was pulverized into a pile of mess and had all that alcohol covering it. It doesn’t mean anything to accuse him if driving drunk. And, if he did, he’s already paid with his life. What a sad ending to a good man.

Police was concerned that the help they provided contributed to the accident. It did not in this case, but we NEED more honest and compassionate law enforcement like him.

The cops that think because they took a class, they are experts at recognizing impairment! Them arresting ppl that dont do drugs or even drink is happening a lot latley and must be stopped and their boss's sticking up for them is pathetic, they are ruining sober ppl's life!
