Each generation thinks there was a golden age in the past, these people probably had theirs in the 1814-15 after the Congress of Vienna, when Austria was at its peak. Btw. most people lived in poverty in 1900s (relatively to today's standard) ... not so golden for them.

@@NerickovaNoha Hahaha, I know this, don't take it so serious. But as always, the facts are between the middle-class fairy tales of the "golden age" and the leftist fairy tales of the social hell. Because the situation in Vienna in these times was like in all big cities around the world. May be in hundred and fifty years the people will tell similar fairy tales about our time. Only one thing will be different and there it was a real golden age in these old times, this was the culture. There came people with extraordinary minds and intellects together and produced culture which are influencing the world till today. These is absolutely not in today's Vienna - in this way, we are now only a better provincial city...

@@konradreinelt5242 Hallo Konrad, danke sehr für Deine Antwort 🙂 Ja, ich habe keine Einwände und ja, stimmt - Wien in der Kaiserzeit war eine der Hauptmetropolen Europas, zusammen mit London, Paris, Berlin etc. Als Provinzstadt würde ich aber eher meine Bratislava bezeichnen 😀 (ich lebe hier, bin aber oft in Wien unterwegs - da ich auch österreichische Kunden habe). Ich wünsche Dir alles Gute und eine schönes erholsames Wochenende !!

And Vienna was not attacked before March 1944 by the allied air forces. Therefore the destructions were much less than in northern german cities.

Also the bombs targeted the Industrial Areas of Vienna more than the center parts, so in the green Prater and the 1st district where never as much bombs droped as in the 23rd or 11th districts...

@@CodingKurzgeschichten das ist nicht die Rotunde, sondern das Zirkus Busch Kino. Die Rotunde stand am hinteren Teil vom heutigen WU Campus, ca. dort wo das Sport-Institut ist.

Die Rotunde wäre von diesem Blickwinkel rechts, eigentlich hinter dem Gebäude auf der rechten Seite, und da hätte man wahrscheinlich nur die Kuppel gesehen.

Die Rotunde war ziemlich groß und konnte daher schon von weitem gesehen werden.
