cold war is an underrated cod game, i loved the multiplayer of this, brings me back to black ops 2 era

Dang! This is the closest thing we want a Call of Duty: Vietnam War game with some styles from World At War.

It's a shame that this game got so much hate when it got released. It was truly an experience, I loved the cold war theme and the visuals of that era.

Fun fact: the M16A1 in the game is actually supposed to resemble an XM16E1, but the thing is is that the developers basically took an M16A1 and fixed the three-pronged flash hider that the original M16 and the XM16E1 had. Also, the magazine capacity is incorrect, since the magazines that the in-game M16 uses are twenty round mags, but they somehow take thirty rounds.

Twin engine 4 bladed rotor Huey's & twin engine AH 1 cobras in a level set in 1968 ? Come on even COD black ops got the Huey correct in that game. Glad to finally see an actual CH 47 Chinnok in game though.

God i love cold war and the beauty of the graphics and gameplay plus its part of the black ops franchise

2:29-2:32 the way the magazine's sides flip back when Adler slams it to Sims' chest. Amazing improvement in gaming physics. And then when Sims holds it by the spine, the way it droops down and wobbles when Sims is settling down in his seat in the chopper. Physics. Amazing.

Despite of some historical inaccuracies the mission and the game overall is awesome

This actually my city, Da Nang the most beautiful city in Vietnam. The Mountain, the Beach view, the place of the airport is impressive accurate. Be away far from home for 3 years and really miss it.

Grabbed this when it was on PS Plus, the first 1/2 to 2/3 of the campaign mode truly blew me away - as someone who hadn't played COD in nearly a decade. Awesome level design, atmosphere, etc. just phenomenal! Then whatever the end...was...happened and I felt empty. Oh, Adler killed me? Cheers. Still a COD game.

I love how in video games the bad guys conveniently keep oil filled red barrels in open view for you you to blow up.

Really wish we got a COD game set in Vietnam. I'd actually be willing to play it. Haven't touched COD in years.

The new COD games have potential but it always slips. They can look great, but they start introducing fictionalised variants of vehicles and giving the weapons odd, made up names that break immersion, coupled with much shorter campaigns that end up with too many plot threads to become muddled. Its a shame, really.

All art assets in this mission were re-purposed from Sledgehammer Game's Vietnam themed Call of Duty. Everything in this level is way too detailed to be made for this game when is had such a suspicious dev time. This was Sledgehammer's game originally before it was take out of their control and given to Treyarch if you remember.

It’s ridiculous how inaccurate this game is no pilot would’ve dropped two dudes in the middle of a town with hundreds of possible insurgents or fly that low ground level. they couldn’t even get the cobras and hueys accurate with their single engine not dual engines. Also they didn’t mount m134 Vulcans on to heuys they mounted m60c models and mi-24 hinds didn’t even exist yet in 1968 until the next year on September 19 1969 and they weren’t fielded till 72 so that’s also inaccurate and then you get to the nuke part there were no nukes tested or even sent into south and north Vietnam. And then the actual da nang air base looked nothing like how they made look in the game and I assume this battle was based off of the tet offensive in da nang that’s what I assume they based this battle off of. And the napalm they called on their position would’ve killed them all. And the ak74su is inaccurate as well that didn’t even exist yet in 1968 until 6 years later

My grandpa was a Vietcong Vet. Got two m16 bullets in his thigh and survive. His teams all killed. VN war is a meat grinder for bothside and nobody want that😢. It seem victorious for us VN but still the lost and hatred is trememdous....
