My brother had to go over because of the draft. He was a senoir in high school. He never got his diploma. Because of how people felt about the war. I dispise it. I feel we never should have been there. To many people were lost. I see what it has done to my brother. I am sorry for all the lost souls.

A very concise comment (reporting). We did mot loose in Virtnam, we quit and just left because of the masses not understanding what our endeavor was to help an ally against communism. Not everyone will help a friend in need against a bully.

A good documentary showing how the Americans fought bravely in Vietnam. The narration, "the infamous Ho Chi minh" reveals the bias of the producer of this film. We know now that Ho Chi Minh and Võ Nguyên Giáp were primarily fighting for the independence of their motherland.

At 03:43+ this states Albania 🇦🇱 became Communist, its far more complicated than that. They never joined the Communist Bloc and they ultimately became a mere sideshow of dictatorship under Hoxxa and as its just a minute nation of just 5 million people became absolutely irrelevant from 1945 until Hoxxa died, in fact many people say that it remains a true amomoly and definitely meets the Sick Man of Europe label we used to throw about at countries like Turkey and Romania etc. Thanks again for the upload here 👍

Well, the Vietnamese that fought with the French against the Communist Vietminh were forced to live in the southern part of the country, known as South Vietnam. The border that separated North Vietnam from South was soon disrespected by the Communist Viet Song and the US move to support the freedom loving Vietnamese, that was an ally of our nation. We, the US, did not fight that war to win. Under Democrat Presidents Kennedy & Johnson our forces fought under rules that guaranteed a draw, if not outright defeat. Those idiotic rules were handed out first by Kennedy, and then Johnson, that prevented our troops from destroying the enemy as we were capable of. The other side, the Communist VC side, had no rules of engagement and their brutality and murder of the Vietnamese people was out of the worst nightmare you can imagine. We fight to win, not a draw, where the enemy regroups and starts another war.The US may not have had to come to the aid of South Vietnam had Eisenhower followed up with a preplanned bombing run on the Communist that surrounded our French allies at Dien Bien Phu. At that time (April 1954) we had a fleet of B-29 bombers in Japan, that was well within the range of Dien Bien Phu. Eisenhower's VP, Richard Nixon, was fully in favor of bombing strikes at Dien Bien Phu to releave the heroic French and FFL soldiers surrounded by the enemy. This battle was critical to the future of Vietnam and never was there more a time to come to the aid of our friends than at that moment! Much, much more was at stake than France just keeping Vietnam a colony. This was the spread of the evil of Communism and it had to be stopped. Better to assist the French than the US having to go in a few years later. Eisenhower blinked! He backed away from helping our friends in this dire moment. None of the other European allies, England in particular, were in favor of helping our friends at Dien Bien Phu. Our friends held out a few days longer before succumbing to the over-whelming numbers of Communist VC soldiers. Two, perhaps three bombing missions, targeting the Communist Forces that surrounded the French, and that could have changed history for the French and the United States. A wave of B-29 Bombers dropping payloads of bombs, various types, could have provided the relief that the French desperately needed. It was a great plan that required a President with much fore-thought to the results of success. Nixon had that fore-thought and that daring, because when he got into the WH, the enemy found out that Nixon was no dove like the previous two Presidents that preceded him. He bombed their no-good behinds to the peace table and negotiated a settlement, and got us out of Vietnam with honor. When democrats and republicans turned against him behind Watergate, the Communist VC reverted back to their old selves, that of Communist terrorism! Sorry for the length but Dien Bien Phu was an opportunity we "NEVER" should have passed on. France and the US had strained relations for many years behind Eisenhower's refusal to help at Dien Bien Phu! Those wee our friends that fought with great honor, with great courage, under conditions so hard to believe. And we, their friends and allies, turned our heads away, when French Forces fighting Communism, needed us most.

The truth about the Vietnam War that was never fully told. United States had No intention of winning the Vietnam War from the very beginning. Fear it might become like the Korean War with mass continuing Communist Chinese troops from China pouring against American military force in Vietnam. And the threat of a thermal nuclear War with the Soviet Union during the Cold War following the Cuban missile crisis that happen in 1962. The Vietnam War started during the Civil Rights movement and racial tension between whites and blacks all across America. Several members in the US government were segregationist and they had their eyes dumping their Blacks problem on Vietnam with all the chaos that was happening in Vietnam at that time between Communist North Vietnam and South Vietnam. At that time, the South Vietnamese had 250,000 troops and North Vietnamese had 60,000 troops and the DMZ line had already been establish at the 17th parallel. Many Vietnamese peoples from both North and South did Not support going to War and killing each other over the idea of Communist. Even though several North and South Vietnamese leaders believe Vietnam should Not be divided and try to distrupt one another. But they couldn't rally enough support among the Vietnamese peoples in Vietnam to support going to War. Until Nov. 2, 1963 When US President JF Kennedy and LB Johnson order their CIA to stage a military coup assasination on a catholic South Vietnamese President, Ngô Đình Diệm and his young brother Ngô Đình Nhu. This action gave America the power to do what ever they want to Vietnam and to the Vietnamese peoples. And the US appointed an ex-Vietminh soldiers for Ho Chi Minh, Nguyễn Văn Thiệu as their puppet South Vietnamese President. The South Vietnamese President who cause the lives of 500,000 South Vietnamese troops killed or capture by the North Vietnamese army and their communist allies The Pathet Lao army, and the Communist Khmer Rouge army of Cambodia when he order them to be station and patrol in Kampuchea. And who told Nguyễn Văn Thiệu to do so? The United States, fear more Americans troops will be killed in Kampuchea. 20 days after the military coup assassination of South Vietnamese President Ngô Đình Diệm and his young brother Ngô Đình Nhu. US President JF Kennedy was assasinated in Dallas, TX on Nov 22, 1963 and LB Johnson was sworn in as the 36th US President. On Aug 10, 1964, US President LB Johnson declare US military action to Vietnam over an alleged attack on a US destroyer, Maddox that was on patrol past the 17th parallel near Hanoi, the capital of North Vietnam while supporting South Vietnam. 500,000 US ground troops was sent to fight in Vietnam. 40% of those US troops that were sent to fight in Vietnam were adult blacks male along with high school drop out white male, non-college white male, trouble teen white male, and white convict male were all sent to fight in Vietnam. And when these US troops arrive in Vietnam and did their "Search and Destroyed mission." The Communist North Vietnamese gain mass support for their cause and their army grew from 60,000 troops to over 1,000,000 troops. On March 16, 1968, several group of US platoons military unit rape and massacre 500 Vietnamese villagers of women, childrens, and old peoples at the village called My Lai during their Search and Destroyed mission. When news and image of My Lai massacre broadcast all across America. There was a mass out cry of protest all across America demanding all US millitary force pull out of Vietnam. This lead to Republican Presidential candidate Richard Nixon winning the Nov. 3, 1968 US Presidential election. The following year, when Richard Nixon took office. His 1st excutive order was to pull out all US military force out of Vietnam. By then, the communist North Vietnamese army was already infiltrate all over in South Vietnam and attacking every where since the Tet offensive that happen on Jan 30, 1968 - Sept 23, 1968. President Nixon order a nonstop US B52 bombers to bombed Hanoi, the capital of North Vietnam and its seaport military supply, Haiphong. This halted the advance of the North Vietnamese army taking over all of South Vietnam. The South Vietnamese army began retaking back many city and town from Communist North Vietnamese in the South. But all that end, on August 8, 1974 when US President Richard Nixon made a televise annoucement of his resignation as US President to American peoples over the Watergate Scandal. A few months later the US Congressional election on Nov. 5, 1974. The Democrats party won a landslide in the US Senate and the House of Representative. The following year in 1975, the newly elected Democrats took their seat in Congress. The 1st bill of law pass was to cut off all US military aids funding to South Vietnam. This action cause the Fall of Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam on April 30, 1975 to communist North Vietnam. Thus began a mass flow of Vietnamese refugee fleeing out of Vietnam. 10 of thousands of Vietnamese refugee died at sea from hunger, thirst, illness, Thai pirates, and Chinese warships. Today over 100's of thousands young South Vietnamese childrens are born of birth defect from the US toxic biological chemical, Agent Orange which the US military spray all over rivers and forest of South Vietnam. 3,000,000 innocent Vietnamese civilians of women, childrens, and old peoples had to die in their country during the Vietnam War. The Vietnam War is the worse United States War Crime in history. From Truman, JF Kennedy and LB Johnson were all were WWI and WWII veteran who sent the next young American men to become killers. Why I post this is because for years I'm tired Americans use Vietnam War as a Propaganda War story. Telling peoples that they there to help South Vietnam fight against communist North Vietnam. Why the Vietnam War was never officially declare. .Proof video on how the Vietnam War got started and you can see and hear it for yourself on RU-vid video. Yet again the incidental “soundtrack” is cheap, inappropriate, crass and utterly unnecessary. The commentary is far too chipper and distracted to be taken seriously by anyone but those that have never seen or heard mention of Vietnam. Not that I give a damn about any war but at least don’t make the people that got conned into fighting it look like fools because of dirt cheap production- do these producers not understand that music in these programmes is so very lame, even looking back at “the world at war” - sometimes the incidental “soundtrack” in those episodes was terribly contrite, it was just as well that they had Laurence Olivier to give the commentary some kind of gravity and import. Otherwise the content here seems fine, but never trust this until you’ve watched every single documentary about it then disseminate your own information then reference.
