Excellent video. I was a flight Engineer on both C-130's and C-130D's, which were A models with skies installed to resupply the radar stations on the Greenland ice cap in the early 1970"s. You may be able to obtain some parts from the Davis Monthan aircraft regeneration center in Tucson Arizona. Good luck on your efforts to restore this great work horse. Thanks for the memories . Chuck, Thanks for the information. Rob has found contact details for Davis Monthan Aircraft Regeneration Centre and will make contact. We appreciate your help.
Great to see one of my old “steeds” being preserved. A few of the “facts” were not quite correct. Never any female pilots on the RAAF C130A. I logged several hundred hours in that particular cockpit among my 4215 A model hours. Also operated the C130E and H models before going Boieng.
I worked on the A model C130 as a technician in the NH ANG great airplane however the props could develop oil leaks in real cold weather so preheating the props with a ground heater to warm the seals would prevent an aborted mission.
