@Mullet fever The communist ideology NEVER represents Vietnamese patriotism. North Vietcong is indeed a terrorist regime! Never believe in Communist propaganda.
Imagine, you are a high school pass out, and you haven't ever driven even a car! You go to China or Russia and learn to fly an obsolescent fighter plane for 2 years, learning limited tactics and come back straight into a war, against a giant airforce with all the resources and training in the world! You still scramble and fight against all odds, and manage to score kills! Just wow 👌 👏 beyond comprehension 😳
@@Brainstrong2 Yes, the Mig-19 PF had a small radar but the radar was so short legged that it was not incorporated to the other versions of the Mig-19. On the other hand, the missiles were carried only by the Mig-19 PM, they were the K5, and these AA missiles were so bad that they had less than 20 % probability of hitting its target.
@@gregj831 that, and it had terrible range, and often enjoyed crashing, much like the USSR the Warsaw Pact airforces only had Mig-19s in service for about 5 years, for example East Germany had a 37% loss rate of Mig-19s through things such as poor build quality and engine troubles, the Chinese only produced and used the J-6 variant for longer as it was in full production at the time of the cultural revolution, where other aircraft like the J-8 and Q-5 didn’t fly or enter service for the 10 year period of the revolution despite being ready to enter mass service in the mid sixties. The J-6 was instead the backbone of the PLA. The NVA likewise suffered a high crash rate, and poor serviceability, the NVA also realised that due to the Mig-19s high fuel consumption they could only be scrambled once inside North Vietnam, rather than with other aircraft like the Fresco and Fishbed which could be airborne before the Americans reached the North. The farmers only real good side was its ability to dogfight, it could turn hard and it’s three 30mm canons packed a punch, in 1974 the Vietnamese airforce J-6s received the ability to carry a pair of K-13 heat seeking missiles. Which greatly improved their ability to fight.
After all, what we are seeing in the video, is it the Vietnam Air Force or the "CHINA AIR FORCE", don't be fooled these pilots that are appearing in the video are "CHINESE" AND NOT VIETNAMESE. Wake up American people, as always tricked by Uncle SAM(USA). And Jesus Christ have mercy on us all.
Mind you the U.S couldnt bomb their airfields or supply lines in the first place because of politics, had to get within visual range before firing (rules of engagement) and so forth. If not for that, the VPAF would not have been able to send up anything.

Kudos to little men in black pyjamas armed with AK-47s that gave the American a bloody nose. The fact that there were aces in North Vietnamese Air Force is just amazing.
This is one of the reason they won the war . China & USSR supplied NVA & VC with up to date weapons whereas the Americans supplied ARVN with WWII vintage or surplus equipment
@@sonidamara5018 There is no M60 tanks in ARVN inventory . The last 2 years of the war the American to South Vietnam was cut by 80% whereas the military aid by the Soviet bloc to North Vietnam was increased 4 fold in the same period

I beg to differ. The Vietnamese did not win the war. China did aided by the American governments gutless will to let our troops do what they were trained to do. Now China controls Vietnam and based on past performance they believe America does not have the guts and will to actually stand against them.
@@walterrichards4362 Complex theme. I confess I dont know as deep. It was a time of extreme struggle between comunism and capitalism ideals. North vietnam didnt win the war, it was the American who stop fighting for south Vietnam. America didnt fight the war to the fullest of its capabilties. Its a shame to say North Vietnam win the war when American had left south vietnam .
Historic footage of a great Cold War warbird! My father flew the Mig 19s in Pakistan in the late 1960s. They were called the "F6s" in Pakistan and had been retrofitted with US Sidewinder missiles and Martin Baker ejection seats.
F-6 was its chinese export designation. The pakistani version with all the modifications ( western avionics etc.) was the most capable of MiG-19 family
The Mig 19 was so sleek looking , love the updated swept tail also notice the Pilots manually closing the canopy, no electric motors or hydraulics like U.S. Fighters , weight savings = better maneuverability.
But lack of a radar and AA missiles made the plane useless. It was a beautiful airplane, but obsolete for the Vietnam combat. It was replaced in the late 60's by Mig-21's.
@@eabnamoliben1598 'Us' and 'them' is a matter of perspective. I presume those that praise them are not South Vietnamese or Americans, or if they are, they are admiring them for their patriotism.

Im wondering how many of those guys broke backs or hips Ejecting with those holsters placed where they were. Mig Ejection seats in that era were uncomfortable as it was, and the Ejection impulse was BAD, as in Guaranteed Injury Bad, from the initial cartridge firing (They used what was essentially a 37mm Shell to blow the seat out of the aircraft), to flail injuries on the arms and legs because they flopped around.
@@toadman506 Russian ejection seats didn't provide much comfort. They were meant for East European and Far Eastern "farm boys" who didn't expect the comforts that American boys were brought up in. These ejection seats were reliable, and saved the pilot's life if ejection was within the operational envelope of the seat. Flail injuries and back injuries occurred if the pilot was not correctly strapped to his seat, or if the pilot was not strapped tight enough to the seat. Some inexperienced pilots who ejected during training flights, hadn't done so and suffered gruesome injuries. American Psy Ops gave wide publicity to these stories to prompt Vietnamese pilots to lose confidence in their planes. It didn't work, because the "farm boys" who flew these planes understood little English, and the first few successful ejections alleviated those fears.
@@mandinigunasekara9312 I can Say I've actually Flown one of those Seats...can You?? The seats Sucked, So did Early US and European Seats. Flail Injuries were Common, ESPECIALLY as the Speeds increased towards and past Mach. Disc Compression injures were Incredibly common, because of the Initiation Method..Again, In The Warsaw pact designs as well as the early US and European Seats. Some of the Weber Seats used in the Century Series aircraft were in fact, WORSE than the Seats in the Mig-17 and Mig-19, Until Weber did an almost complete redesign. Hell, as uncomfortable as the Mig-17 seat is, the A-4 Skyhawk seat is WAY Worse. after the 30 minute mark in the A-4 my back was killing me, the Fresco was just uncomfortable. It;s not a matter of Propaganda, it;s a matter of Technology and the way it advances. You apparently have a hair up your ass about the US...Good for you Cupcake..I really Don't care. Even Shitty seats save lives, and the British managed to do the Lion's share of making those seats better in the West. Shit Son, we just lost 2 people in the last year in an accident because they were flying a 60's era seat and the Pilot to his credit, flew the aircraft to a point where it wouldn't harm anyone on the ground before he punched himself and his Pax out out of the Seat Envelope. Physics doesn't give a shit about nationality, and it doesnt matter if someone's spine came from America, the USSR, or Vietnam for it to be hurt when you have a 37mm Shell providing the initial Impulse.
Add I have gotten older I have developed a huge respect for these people and what they accomplished. Whatever you think of the political questions you have to admit they fought bravely and well, and intelligently. Whether the US _could_ have crushed them, they were smart enough to play by the rules that did exist at the time and to do what it took to win what they wanted in end. When do they faced incredible hardships and sacrifices to achieve what they did. What the average Vietnamese soldier endured makes what the average American cries about seem pretty mild.

You can find it on RU-vid on a Vietnamese movie channel called V-Sense. It’s dubbed into English.
