While I admire her for success but the way she described her mother, not allowing her to go college is too hard to believe. My mom, aunts, teachers were as old as her mother, were doctors , post graduates etc. And were working in public sector, government etc.. I am almost her age and most my teachers at university were women obviously must be same age as her mother. In fact I developed inferiority complex in teens for not making it to engineering or medical school. That is how indian society specially urban brahmin families were. So to claim indian traditional families that too south Indian brahmin family opposing modern education is too much to believe. I understand under underdogs making it big gets wows and extra credit, however somewhere one should be little decent in exaggerating. If non Indians are reading this viewers, please be aware that india in general and hindus in particular are economically backward and no socially and culturally backward. Take her "swimming against social ties" with pinch of salt.
