Hello Mate Vince. Thanks for another great video. Merry Christmas to you too. For a raspi, hdmi audio is not automatic, using raspi-config on the command line you can enable it. One of those little quirks ;) Note to self; keep watching before commenting ;)

Merry Christmas Vince... I already opened my presents.. well I can as it is 9.45am, benefit of being in the future.... @5:00 I have had to repair those kinds of switches before too, dirty from new ! Polish with fibreglass brush and squeeze terminal closed a touch to grip a bit tighter.

By far my preferred repairs are toys and household items!! Loved the Toy Story repair!

Only things in the kipper season I got today was a NOS Sharp ana-digi promotional watch and a spare working Xbox One motherboard and daughterboard because my spidey sense tells me the £4 one I did buy previously may well not be long lived and its just handy to have a proven warrantied spare to hand for just in case... I would buy a V1 Switch motherboard from that naughty boy from up north below but always sold out so it seems... funny lot them northerners, must be all them flat caps and whippets sends 'em round the twist :P

Tunes menthol sweets were round-shaped lozenges that were manufactured by The Wrigley Company Ltd in Plymouth, and came with the slogan "Help you breathe more easily". Unfortunately, the company stopped manufacturing Tunes in 2017, with Cherry Menthol Sugar Free being the last available flavour.

Would love to see you begin in 2024, to WEIGH-IN all items fixed, and failed fixes. Thus proving at end of year you saved (let's say) 3/4 ton of refuse from the skiff /landfill. Saved weight - failed weight = Actual Amount saved.

@2:00 - Be mindful of eating too much sugar-free candy. If it's made with Zylatol or other sugar alcohols and your body is not used to them already, the runs will come as quite a shock. For those not used to sugar alcohols, it's best to ease in to them or you will pay the price.

me being an SBC enthusiast (single board computer)...the raspberryPi 3b was the most interesting to me...how you let something get that corroded is a mystery...i have several Pi's...including one of these 3b from about 2016...one of my early RetroPie builds for emulation...sits inside a NESPi case these days...glad to see that one working

Sound toys like the buzz lightyear use little to no current so the split off from 4.5v on the batteries would hardly make a difference. A kid is not going to constantly open and close the wings, using the motor which is the main current draw. So the batteries should discharge relatively equally. Saved the company 2 cents on sundries and a voltage reg. Fixed a bluttooth speaker the other day thanks to one of your videos (could not for the life of me work out how to get it apart). Then hid it under a table at the pub and sat at a nearby table with my iPad open and a rattle snake documentary open on it. Every time someone approached that table, I played the rattle snake. A lot of confused, and even one scared punter backed away from that table :) (there are no rattle snakes in Australia!)

For those who need 99.9% IPA, if you have a branch of Boyes near you, they're selling 200ml at £4 a bottle if you need some in a pinch. First time I've seen a high street retailer selling it because until now, it's been online or bust.

My youngest brother and his wife live in Switzerland, they went from £30K a year as teachers over here to coining in half a mill working for an exclusive school near St Galen, funny thing too is one of my lifelong close friends and schoolmate who was born in the bed next to me in the south London hospital moved in a few houses down from me brother so its like a small enclave of south London folks over there. Bonus too as part of the employment package they enjoy, my two nephews are being educated at Switzerland's version of Eton for free lol Been told a job waiting for me if I wanted one over there but health gets in the way a bit, maybe one day but not just now.

For cleaning corrosion 70% IPA works better. Some of these salts are soluble in alcohol but some do better with water. After you're done with 70% then you go with 99% to remove any water left.

Most aircraft landing gear systems work like those buzz lightyear wings. Hydraulics raise the langing gear, but to lower gravity does most of the work. .

Vince there's a bubble machine that uses 10 (yes, ten) batteries and does the tap trick to supply different voltages. One is 3V for the rotating loop carousel (with bubble rings), another with 6V for an array of LEDs and the full 8 battery/12V for the blower fan. I had a similar wtf-aha reaction to yours.

your first one your guy heated it for too long & burned the contacts aswell as the one thats not working is out of shape the internal sliders should be straight not curved
