That is some phenomenal shooting, Vin! .177,sub 12 foot-pounds. You proved that with a solid skill level it can be done. With a Springer. Whaaaaaat....wow.👏🏻
Thank you kindly mate, as I try to put across as much as I can on the channel the ability to free stand shoot is vital when hunting, you won't always have the opportunity to rest the rifle. 👍👍👍
Well done Vince 👍 I did 33cl soda bottles hanging in a tree on 50 meters with my HW97 and that went well but i did not try it on 100 meters yet...I will try smaler golfball size targets on 50 meters first and than 80 and 100 meters on soda cans. Even when i'll never shoot on 100 meters with an air rifle when i'm hunting it will be a challenge on cans. Cheers buddy!
Hi Ron and thanks for the comment. Hmm drilling some holes through golf balls and hanging them with string would make for a decent plinking target... cheers buddy think I'll try that at 50 metres 🤔👍👍👍
@@vincentenglish8489 Yes Vince, i'll do the same. 👍 I,ve fixed a steel propane tank and will make a big square hole in the side and hang the targets in there. Great pellet catcher and the targets have no effect from the wind. Just fill the tank with water to be sure no propane is left before start the cutting. Easy to take with you and place where you want too 👍
Hi Vin, Awsome shooting and gun. I have an 05 HW77 in '22. Would never sell it. About the most accurate springer i have. My HW80 will run it close but you are right. Fantastic bit of kit.
Nice tidy group that. Was surprised that the pellets had enough energy to go through the cans at that range. Springers are certainly capable little rifles in the right hands, which comes to those prepared to practice with them.
After watching your videos I decided in invest first of all in a hw100s after having a crap fx drs that broke after 15 mins. Hw100s was and is amazing. I'm now hooked on weihrauch and will be looking at buying hw77 and hw95 next as I love springers( love my prosport) more than pcps for all the same reasons you have mentioned before in many of your videos.
I can’t shoot a springer as well as pcp due probably to the recoil. I’m still learning but pcp is probably twice as easy for accuracy, the amount I miss the bull probably doubles with the hw97 compared to the NP02, excellent shooting vin !!
Incredible shooting Vin! I have a 97 with the same scope. Can i ask why you used x6 mag and not x9? Always trying to learn off someone far more experienced than myself. Thank you.
Yup that's a good question, the short version is it means I can use my mil dots as a hold point as it's a SFP scope, using to higher mag would mean I lose the target in the sight picture. Remember I'm using low mounts that aren't shimmed and I'm using a 45 metre zero. This might make an interesting video in its self to explain the hold points, mag and mil dots. I'll do one of these videos soon using a scope cam and talk through the process 👍👍👍👍
@@vincentenglish8489 Thank you for your reply Vin. That makes sense and a future video on hold points, mag and mil dots would be fantastic. Thanks again and take care.
Very envious. I've not been shooting at all for the last week or so for one reason or another and do need to get out again as the weather is actually nice!! This has made me want to test the legs of the springers, I think the max I will be able to shoot is 75m?? I'll have to laser range it and see what kind of a grouping I can get?!
Keith your HWs should be able to hold a fairly small group at 75m , my advice is to do it with the heaviest pellets your guns shoot accurately and find your hold off at 75m from a 40m zero👍👍😌
