I am full of admiration for your honesty. It is brave to be so open about any matter like this especially when you can be subject to vitriolic attacks if you take a stand. Like you, Douglas, I have known only same sex attraction and it has caused me no end of pain and soul searching. Many years ago I was thrown out of a very strict church when I stumbled a couple of times in this area and this made me severely unstable and I slept rough and was homeless for a while. It is only in the past few weeks that I have forgiven those Christians who (a) made false promises to me about marriage and family and (b) said spiteful things. I am celibate for now but it is a lonely and frustrating walk of endurance and I am not certain that I will be able to maintain this. What baffles me is that I can see God working and blessing me in every other part of my life bar my sexuality, the area in which I need the greatest help. I am struggling to understand that. Your sincerity is genuine, but your believe that there may be some god is flawed. The people is Israel chose them selfs to be gods people , no other, there are a lot of flaws with scripture it's not a book that's understood. You say people pick and chose your doing likewise. The concept if to be believed as scripture says its impossible to apply, if your family member dies without faith therefore goes to he'll your heaven now becomes hell for in eternity you long for that which is lost.
