Mascha came up with this idea to share our top five of each major arcanum in a dedicated video, airing every few weeks. At 8, one could choose to show Strength or Justice (or, I suppose, a mix of the two that are numbered ‘8’ - I opted for Strength here (and Justice at 11) solely because my collection has more decks in it with this configuration. Timestamps below.
*Apologies - I mispronounced ‘Jeanne’ around the 8.5min point - her name is two syllables, ‘Jean-ne.’
These are my current favourite Strength cards:
01:41 Strength as healing and tenderness
04:21 Strength that feels joyful
05:58 Strength that is feminist
07:40 Strength as notable achievement
09:37 Strength inspired by the ogam
12:15 Strength that is Shakespearean

Hello Laura! Great video as usual... Loved all your card choices! specially your reflection on the Marigold Tarot and "coming to terms with the reality of death", that one phrase really got to me, so beautiful.

💜 It's such a good deck. It's not, to me, death themed in any way even though it is all skeletons - we're all skeletons underneath after all, including while living! - but it's such a thoughtful one. I know more of these majors will make it to my TopTarotTrumps as her choices of everything from embroidery to foliage to postures are so deliberate and symbolic.

I loved your choices. I agree about the trees making sense anyways, as I have no ogham knowledge and still found myself making sense of all the species I’m familiar with. The gentleness in the steampunk representation was so sweet. 😻

💜 Yes I do find the ogham associations (and tree associations in this deck) to be generally intuitive. One need not know ogham to get the association of oak with strength, or Willow with the moon given its watery environs. It's a very well done deck and I'm glad you put it on my radar.

I also have more decks with Strength at Key 8. It's how I learned as well. My favorite Strength cards don't show force or aggression either. One of my favorites is from Tarot of Trees by Dana O'Driscoll. The image showes the quiet strength of life itself. Another Strength card that immediatly came to mind is from the Smoke, Ash & Embers Tarot by Stephanie Burrows and Adam Oehlers. For me is shows the strength of curiousity and being open to new experiences, with a little magic thrown in. Did you have fun at the Readers Studio? If I remember correctly you went this year.

I love Tarot of Trees! 💚 I have the small sized one and take it with me often. I had to look up the Smoke Ash & Ember card - I like this interpretation a lot too. I *loved* Reader's Studio! So much fun, and so much fun to meet several other tarot tube folks especially! The level of enthusiasm and curiousity in a space like that is just amazing (though also overwhelming and I totally needed introvert breaks here and there). I feel very happy to have experienced it and I have no doubt the learnings will make their way into my video content for months to come.

The Oak Tree for Strength resonated with me, Laura... Oh, I'm very curious about the Ogham, I have my books and a beautiful ogham set.. Do you have a video on YOUR personal ogham staves and how you came to learning this ancient language? x
@aquamarine18
@aquamarine18 Месяц назад
💜 I do not, but I could! I have staves - I didn't make the set myself, but they include staves from each tree (so the Dair staff is made of oak, the Sail staff made of willow, and so on). I don't know that I've ever shown them on camera now that I'm thinking about it - maybe briefly when I first got them. I also use my cards, and one other deck. I could do a video on this! I think I've felt like I'm too fresh to it to make 'instructional' kind of ogham content but at this stage, having studied this long, I could make some good videos on my experiences with them for sure. Thank you for this nudge.
