Vija Celmins on her life in (and out of) the studio 

I hear the cry in her voice when she says, "things you want to keep".

I just saw her retrospective at the Art Gallery of Ontario here in Toronto and fell in love with her work. I had never heard of Vija Celmins, and now I am smitten. Thank you.

Her show at the Met Breuer right now is a total knockout.

She looks good for 80.

No gimmicks, no ego, not stupid and far-fetched speeches. She has only been guided by her will and her irresistible desire to create.
