Viking Archery & The Viking Bow 

While it is true that the word Viking or Norseman does not initially conjure up images of archers, the Vikings were indeed very well versed in the ways of the bow and arrow.
Archery is mentioned many times in the epic Norse Sagas and several legendary figures and gods are affiliated with archery in Viking culture. Also, Several unique, primitive longbows have been unearthed in Viking burials.
The Vikings, beings very interested in both warfare and trade were also familiar with composite bows like those of the steppes, whos inhabitants traded with the medieval Norse. This short video explores Viking archery and the Viking bow. Enjoy.
