You can buy my similar axes at carvermind.com...
Please support my work and you can download blueprints, printable 3D models and plans created for my works. If you have a good idea that I could implement, I would be happy to discuss it with you:
/ carvermind
I turned a simple work axe to a Viking war ax. In addition to transforming the headform, I did a lot of engraving work on it. It has some traditional Viking symbols (for example vegvisir) on the head, but I carved Celtic and modern graphic elements to the axe head.
I also carved the handle of the axe with traditional Viking and Celtic patterns.
This video has my own song. Hope you enjoyed the video, please subscribe.

Great job. I liked that you didn’t use etching to get patterns on the head but “carved” everything with one power tool. That gives it something more that etched axes don’t have. I’m also trying to make myself one but I haven’t decided on handle shape yet. I’ll let you know once it’s done !✋

Beautiful ax man. Was wondering how you got that design on the paper like that? Also what kind of paper did you use? I see it stuck on the ax head when you placed it on the there. And was wondering what the black stuff is you used to coat it? Lol sorry for all the questions. I'm new at this and will be attempting my first ax and was just looking for tips.
@CarverMind
@CarverMind 4 года назад
Thank you. I made the design with Vegvisir and other viking symbols. Just printed it a normal paper and fixed it with simple school glue. The black material is a matte black paint, nothing special. I hope it help and you make a great Viking axe.

It's a very pretty looking wall hanger, but couldn't be used as an axe ever again after this. The handle looks to be basswood, which is too soft for use, and isn't wedged. I also watched the bottom of the bit change color to gold and then blue as you cut it, meaning the heat treat is ruined. It looked to be a cheap, new Rheinland pattern, so no big loss, but just don't go trying to swing that into anything, or you'll be picking splinters of the broken handle out of your hand.

That's an axe that should be seen thrown past somebody's face in a movie that stops somebody from killing them. From a guy throwing it to it slow motion past a face as the eyes and camera catch the artwork and then slamming into an invader about to shoot an arrow or use a sword or something Stopping him dead in his tracks The scene will be called Beauty and the beast Prior to that people walked by the axe displayed on the outside of a viking cottage and chastising the owner that the axe he displays is only for looks and could never be used to build a boat. At the end of the movie he's building a boat with it. Probably already been done but 🤷 whatever
