Yes... here where I live in the Cederberg, a large portion of the farming area is owned by a 72 year old farmer - my friend's husband. He GREW UP farming in this area and he knows EVERYTHING - where the water in the hills come from and where it goes. Above ground AND underground. There's nobody else who knows better how to place a dam or reservoir in the most optimal position. He knows the best cultivars, he knows the animals, the birds, the plants, the mountains and the valleys. He knows the people. He's old and not in the best health. And each day he goes out early and comes back late. He's too busy to record his knowledge. He only had two girl children and his only grandson is brain damaged. So...as you say...knowledge is being lost.

Such a pure joy to see this video! You have worked your skills as a photographer in these photos and the video! It's wonderful to see craftwork still being done by hand. I'm a boot maker by trade and was taught woodworking by my father. His father was a Germanic cabinet maker that never used a powertool. Weavers, embroidery, shoe making, blacksmithing, glass bead making, etc. I enjoyed seeing it all. Thank You so much for sharing this!

Oh wow! Tom, this was a work of art - truly! The tour of the camp was great, but your cinematic skills are just superb!
