Ten wonderful days cruising from Venice, Italy to Athens, Greece. Ports along the way include Koper, Zadar, Dubrovnik, Kotor, Corfu, Katakolon and Santorini.
Great video and great narration. We will be on the same cruise late April. 2023. Going from Athens to Venice Thanks for sharing g your adventure. We are super excited!! Cheers
thank you for sharing!! I am getting on this cruise on the Viking Saturn in October with my Mom, and a couple of my aunts and uncles, I’m looking forward to it! 😊
Well done. Nicely produced. We did the exact same trip three weeks ago. Sadly, 9000 passengers ( 5 ships ) arrived in Santorini on the same day so, the local port authority closed everything down and all our tours were cancelled. ( They cannot handle that many tourists at one time ). Overall, an excellent trip and Viking did a bang-up job.
Thank you! And thanks for watching! Sorry to hear you weren't able to get off at Santorini... they actually told us that happens from time to time and were managing our expectations in case it happened to us. We really love the whole Viking experience and have a few on the books over the next couple years.
Thank you for this informative video. We are planning to do a similar Viking cruise. One thing I’m curious about is whether you had any difficulty getting bookings on your first choices for the excursions?
Not really… but we also make sure we do our homework researching which excursions we want and then go online as soon as our window opens to book. Some of them really book up quickly! Good luck!
Beautiful video! I would really like to know the date of your cruise. We are traveling a similar route in April 2024. I'm wondering if the weather in the evenings will be too cold for us to dine outside or be on our balcony. It's hard to predict the weather but I'm trying to get an idea of what it will most likely be. Any thoughts?
Thanks for watching and thanks for the compliment! We were on the cruise October 10 - 19th. As you saw, the weather was rather spectacular. Not sure what April is like but I bet there’s some websites that can tell you what the norms and averages are?
Absolutely... they should pay me for advertising! LOL www.vikingcruises.com/oceans/cruise-destinations/eastern-mediterranean/empires-mediterranean/index.html#search/sfym=2023-10&sftcm=13-176
Hey Russell, thanks for watching! I think the only "included" tour was Olympia. The other excursions we add-ons. With the exception of Krka National Park, all were a great value. Viking did a great job of contracting wonderful guides and didn't pack the groups with too many people.
This video is definitely incomplete to go from kotor to corfu you have to pass through Albania wich has 450 km of coastline 280mi for trying to erase 3000 years of history with sweet talk is just low not to mention beautiful city of Saranda albania is a stone throw from corfu you can actually see it .I'm only commenting on the video so you guys can get correct information.
How right you are! It sounds like it was really our great loss that Viking didn’t stop in any Albanian ports of call. Hopefully, one day we’ll be able to see that beautiful city of Saranda that you mention. Thank you for pointing that out and thank you for watching my video!
