Depending on the size of the nubs, you can use them as fake rivets on some eva foam or leather projects, or if they are big enough, dye them various colours, pierce the center of them with a needle and thread and make fancy bead patterns out of them. :) Hope this helped even if I am a year late to the party.

The little dots from your rotatery tool can be used as the stuffing for a weight used to hold down your patterns. I would suggest suede leather for the outer pocket. Chuck Dorset from Weaver Leather has a video on using scrap leather. You should check it out.

Awesome content! And the nubbins make fantastic filling for things like tailor’s hams and pincushions and needle savers with things like sawdust. Actual thing as the sawdust keeps needles and pins sharp and rust free. And tailor’s hams help you form all those finicky curves for things like shoulders and other round and bendy places.

leather nubbins and other small bits make great filler material for little pouches you can use to rest the leather on when you're working on it while it's already formed with a bend, personally I'll be using mine to make spell ball packets for larp.

For those nubs, use a needle and thread to turn them into dangling leather accessories, you could stain them pair them with beads, small bones, or other charms to add alittle tribal charm to things.

Futarck? Kit? Make a gorget and glue that leather dots along the edge. Use as a decorative caps for small nails in woodworking. Drill holes half size of that dots in wood to insert and glue them to add more grip to handles. Paint in different colors to build a mosaic. Glue to a wooden mallet(to a bitting surface) to avoid grain suppression(fibers) when working on a soft wood. Paint and string to use as decoration, handle wrapping, inlay, pendant cord ets. Wet, reshape and add a handle to make a fine brushes. Make stamp(letters and symbols build from dots). Glue 1 to a window glass to practice an optical muscles workout - focusing on a dot, then object on a far distance or open sky(same direction) few comfortable seconds 10-15min daily. Insert in a knife sheath to avoid blade strumming. Place under piece of leather when wetforming to press with a soft counter and make bulges(maybe that relief wood look interesting. Who knows). That's all that came to my mind offhand.

The Little leather nubs could be used in something decorative maybe. You could always cover it in resin? If you boil leather, it hardens and shrinks. Boiling the nubs could basically make them similar to bb’s. I’ve seen someone boil rawhide down into a thick liquid. I don’t know if the same could be done with leather, I’ve never tried it. Just brainstorming.

Something to possibly do with the little nubs - use them as rubble in tabletop RPG terrain. Or maybe put them in resin and turn it on a lathe like Nick Zammeti does. Heck, if you ever make something that needs filler, like a voodoo doll or stuffed animal, it might be good filler for that. I don't know if it would be any good to put in a stone polisher, but that might be an interesting experiment. Or maybe they would help soil in a flowerpot stay moist. Or not. I dunno.

Another sick project, sir! That belt turned out slick, and I love how the joiner strips blend into the stitching so nicely. Bonus points for the awesome etched metal embellishment, too. I'm curious if you've considered pieces that combine other materials. I'm thinking fur, like that kind of winter leather armor with a fur layer underneath that looks all Celtic and ancient.

Great belt man! Two ideas for you, making your own punch is easy. Take a pair of wire brads drill holes at the proper spacing into a metal washer, the size depends on how far apart you want the brads to be. then pop rivet a second washer on top covering the nail heads. you can also add a long piece to the middle so you have something to hold onto while tapping with the hammer. Second hack- those nubs can be fun to make stippling. take a small handful of them and put them in a cup. add a very SMALL amount of dye (like half a teaspoon) and mix with a popsicle stick. You want nubs that are damp with dye but not soaked. Put latex gloves on and take the nubs and squeeze them in paper towel to get most of the dye off. then drop them onto another piece of leather and move them around. you should get many little dots of color on top of whatever color the larger piece to dyed to or you can do a dark color first then wipe a lighter color on top to get an aged effect or to hint at a pattern in the leather where there isn't one. can give an extra dimention to the finish of a larger piece. The other use I know of is dying the nubs different colors and letting them dry. once they are good and dry (I use a dehydrator) mix them with PVA glue and paint them onto a picture frame or around a stand mirror. They give a neat effect of depth to the mirror and if you mix in light colors with dark you can build a nice effect. One last Idea I have done, instead of using the vinyl sheets for a cricket cutter ($$$) use regular contact paper from the hardware store. much cheaper and you get a lot more in a roll. Have you bought a RECHARGEABLE 9V battery yet? Why not? :)

AND it isn't thick enough to make indents when tooling the leather stay. so I may have to do a different technique for my embellishment on the front.
