This the first song of the Nightwish Holy Trinity and the perfect song to start off with. The Nightwish army will soon be here with many great individual suggestions. If yu have too many suggestions follow Gabriel's advice.......only things I would add is that there are certain "rules" you should follow when listening the Nightwish. First listen to the live versions. The songs literally "come alive". Next there is the "Annette" exception; poor girl is probably #3 of the 3 vocalist in Nightwish......and still one of the best singers in the world.......the "Holy Ghost" to Tarja's "Son" and Floor's "Father".......some may switch those around but they are wrong (just kidding, Nightwish fans are almost unvirersally cool and give each singer the respect they deserve)........the "Annette exception" is that you want to listen to her studio versions.....and better yet her videos.......Toumas writes to the singers talents and this is no more evident than with Annette. Check out the studio video for "Scaretale" to see what I mean.........Tarja was the first vocalists and the most operatic voice of all.......in addition to the Nightwish songs she sings, you must check out the cover of "Phantomof the Opera".......now back to the Holy Triinity.....""The Poet & the Pendulum" and "The Greatest Show on Earth"........there sre not just songs; the are musical novellas. Get some bangers under your belt from the Wacken, Buenos Aires. Tampere and Wembley live shows........then read the lyrics for "Greatest Show..." and check out Tampere.......and fo a special kick, check out the ending of the Wembley show.......read the lyrics and you'll appreciate this so much more.........now as to "Poet".....you aint ready for that yet......read the history of the band and the "Goodbye" letters written by the band to Tarja and her response to understand the anguish Tuomas went through and put into that song......he had to sacrifice a family member to keep the rest of family alive when they had to fire Tarja. Again these are ot simply songs; they are poignent stories that you should get a bit of familiarity with before you listen.
Holy shit this is well written. I will indeed follow those rules as I already feel that the army just wants the best experience possible for me and any other reactor. I love that. My very first video was Phantom of the Opera by the way as this is a very special song to me. I decided to start with that one ;). The poet and the pendulum will have a special video dedicated to it I think as it has become clear to me that I NEED to be fully invested and in the know before i do it. This song from this concert was my introduction to Nightwish about a year ago. And Jukka is definitely special. Not many drummers grab my attention like he does. He is truly missed on that stage. Greetings from the USA 🇺🇸😁

Lol this song I think was almost everyone’s intro to Nightwish and the performance/song that made us all hooked in love with the entire band instantly lol pretty sure my playlist for my car has never left Nightwish for many months now!! Lol I couldn’t believe being in the US how many of us never even heard of this band but I’m soo happy that Floor was able to draw us all in with her Beste Zangers performances!!
@@sarabanas1447 I found Nightwish a long time ago, back when Tarja was the singer actually 😊 When she quit I had a hard time accepting it and chose to not listen to their new albums after that. I just continued with all my CDs I already had 💿 Then, what seems like a hundred years later, I came across Floors version of this song here on RU-vid and I have to admit that I like it even more than when Tarja sang it. It is so powerful! And like you say, that ending note is amazing 🤩

Since you were questioning yourself on band members here’s a breakdown: Tuomas H- Composer/lyricist/keyboardist: Originator of the band Empuu V. - Guitarist/Recording Bassist: Original member Tarja T. - Vocalist: Original member; let go in 2005(there’s still hard feelings about this, so go gently) Sami - Tour Bassist: Original Touring Musician Jukka N.- Drummer/Percussionist: Original Member; had to step away in 2014 for his health; still helps run the business side of the band Marko/Marco H.- Bassist/Vocalist/Composer : enters the band around 2000; is taking at least 2021 off, open ended possibilities afterwards Annette- Vocalist: very strong in studio, most feel her live performances lack something; left/was let go halfway through the 2012/2013 Imaginaerum World Tour Troy D.- Pipes/ Whistles/Bouzouki/Guitar/Vocalist: essentially what can’t he play?! Brought in to do session work with the band between 2007-2012, made a full member Fall of 2013 after completing the Imaginaerum World Tour Floor J.- Vocalist: Brought in just to finish the Imaginaerum World Tour with 48hours to learn the entire set list(there’s a great documentary about this time here on YT, worth a watch); officially announced as a full member of the band with Troy in Fall 2013 Kai H.- Drummer/Percussionist: Asked by Jukka to take his spot(they are friends) in the early demo days of the creation of Endless Forms Most Beautiful album(Summer 2014) By no means a complete list of the members’ various and valuable contributions to the music industry, as several of them have/had solo careers or other band/group projects, this is ONLY meant as a basic primer on who you can expect to see based on the date of any given video. Oh I am sure that all singers have their strengths and weaknesses. They all get a fair chance and I will not be negative of any. I am just very curious of the backstory. I am about to watch a few videos to help me understand what happened around 2005.

This is also the most reacted song in the YT. So we have seen this quite a many times with some reactors and without any 😅. Jukka is always in to drumming. Good drummer is the singer's best friend. Emppu has Corona beer there 🍺. And his solo is so delicate. The interlude is from the original. The crowd control is insane! And then the flames comes to Floor's mouth. After that crazy high note I always think: "yaaasss Queen! Dance it out! That was amazing! You rocked it!" And the little shout out to the guys she gestures at the end talks about the appreciation and respect she has for them, especially being the newest member of the band at the time
There's some info on video before music starts: "Taken from the live DVD/Blu-ray 'Showtime, Storytime' ". That's why the sound is so good! But NW always have a good sound in their live performances!!!!

Hey Viking Reacts! Great reaction! I'm familiar with chills all over because of Floor singing since about 2000, when my friend Chris introduced me to After Forever, Floor's first band. If you want to explore Floor in her early 20's, I reccommend 'Monolith of doubt" live in the kopspijkers tv show in 2002! Stay healthy!
I actually know her from her After Forever days. I was at the Remagine Album Release concert in 2005. I never followed up on her though... But... good to know about kopspijkers as I didn't know that ;)

I am not ashamed to let tears flow ;). Some stuff has been happening in my life over the last few months. Depression and the loss of a dear family member being one of them. My tears are always there in the corner. This channel helps a lot. I feel i am slowly finding a new family and a hole in my heart is now being filled with music. These are the main reasons why I started the channel and why I, for example, do NOT want donations of any kind as well. This is musical love and healing. Thanks for your comment :)

The vocalist Floor Jansen is definitely a queen. And she has her king, Hannes van Dahl, who is the drummer of Swedish metal band Sabaton. You wanna get your channel up, check them out. They do songs all about history, and talk about things you don't learn a lot about in school. Sabaton is worth a listen, trust me. First song I heard from them was "Bismarck," and I've been hooked ever since! Give them a listen bro!

Floor is the Valkerie Queen that assembles the masses unites them all to go to war against mordor. Then the Blue Haired angry Pixie General Alissa takes over and with "arch enemey - Nemesis (wacken) " runs us all into battle to obliterate the enemy. The moment Floor goes "hey Hey Hey!" ok assemble, where we going? i dont care ready for battle! Then i listen to Alissa's intro in Nemesis, and we go full berzerker mode against the enemy.

Ghost River is my vote for the next one....It has a great energy and a small intro to some Floor growls...It has some hardcore Marco and redic riffs....It is one of my favorites
