"Björn" means bear, Ironside was given to him by his father the king of vikings since he seemed invulnerable in battle, and Ragnarson is "son of Ragnar". That is pretty cool. In real life, I used to work with a Swedish man named "Thorbjörn". Thor=God of thunder and war, and Björn was bear. He didn't seem to think as highly as his name as I did.

Ivar anger, strategy and ruthlessness were his only strengths in the beggining, so much so that those actually led him to power, not corrupted him. But after the fall he learned that what really matters is the people at your side. Bjorn power was his strength and competence in battle, but mostly the love he had and the people love for him, which was also his weekness, together with the less strategic mind. Every major character was filled with strength and weeknesses that we could list for hours, not one completely perfect, not one completely flawed. That was why it was so relatable and amazing to watch to all who wanted to see something believable. Not a simple "perfect hero" history, but a human history.

no one will be as great as ragnar, ragnar started from nothing and built an entire age, he was seen as a god, even tho he never wanted to be a god, all he really wanted was to explore the world and make a better life for his people, that’s a real man, a great man

Why are you saying that? No offence, i'm just curious. From my point of view Bjorn fails in nearly every decision. In season 5b he was like a rebellious kid, rather listening to Magnus shady story and banging the Kings fiancee, risking the survival of his entire family. Harald and Olaf gave him their armies for litterary other no reason and he still lost to Ivar, until Freydis betrayed him. He cheated on Torvi and on Gunhild. He sucks as a husband and he sucks as a king. He had two options with Ivars men: killing them or pardon them, but he chosed to banish them, what gave them the opportiunity to come back and got revenge. Thats the reason his son is dead, but Bjorn does not learn from his mistakes. When his mother was murdered, he had the same choice: pardon his brother or killing him, but again he choses to spare him, giving him the opportunity to come back with Ivar and take revenge. So why do you admire him?
