I’m a 18 year old from Denmark, and one of the last believers in the ancient pagan religions. Pagan believers and families are very rare in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. A bit more frequent in Iceland. But we’re still here, teaching our children the cultural ways of our once so proud ancestors. Can’t wait to the day I get to do it haha. Most of us do believe in science and we live modern lives, but culturally and traditionally, we keep our past alive.

Ur ancestors who truly knew ur traditions abandoned their life of conquest for Christianity. Do like ur forefathers and turn to god. Don't let the devil trick u into sin due to a pursuit of honoring ur ancestors.Plus vikings didnt even act like this at all. They were not cool they were heathens pretty much villagers in the trees.

It’s a deleted scene. A stupidly deleted one at that, it should have been there. That, and Ragnar telling Bjorn “I’m proud of you”, since it was th last thing he ever told him.

2:07, I can honestly say that Ivar's little speech was heartbreaking; "I thought, that perhaps you jumped ship because you loved me....but of course you didn't. How could you ever love me?" I remember that one scene, when he confesses to Freydis, "All I ever wanted was for my brothers to love me, but I see now, they could never." Looking back at 2:07, I can see how genuinely happy he is to think that he had Hvitserk as a brother join him. It isn't until Hvitserk began to doubt his own intentions, that Ivar realizes he didn't join him out of love, but as a way to simply rebel against Ubbe. I think that's where he accepts the toxic anger that he will never have his brothers by his side in the way he wishes.

Such an epic speech, silent in torture and Viking honour at the end even as he said he didn’t believe in Val Hala, did he say that to King Ecbert to trick? As the speech sounded the opposite. Thanks for sharing x

Tracey Brown he wasn't lying about not believing in his old gods, he just had to appear strong and devoted to his gods in front of King Aelle. Aethelwulf said it right to Ecbert, Ragnar was eventually a symbol for the Northmen, he couldn't let himself die in silence, and without referencing his gods, as he would appear weak. So in reality, it was just a show for the crowd, he genuinely didn't believe in the gods anymore, or at least he'd lost most of his faith in them. Ragnar even says in his talk to Ecbert, the one you're referencing, whilst saying he doesn't believe in the gods. He tells him before he dies he will give a speech about how he's happy to die because of the gods existence, despite it not being true.

IMO this theme is one of the things that sets Vikings apart from any other show I've watched. As if I wasn't already in an endless stream of tears, Ragnar's deleted scene and Bjorn saying *I don't want to fight* at 3:22 really got to me. Not gonna lie, you have set the bar really high with your amazing edits but this video still managed to surpass my every expectation.

problem with your new videos about Vikings is in music, it's not that epic. Look, for example, video Ragnar Lothbruk the Choice - which you made, It has almost 3 million views. Music in that video was so good, people have to see it, plus, coordination between music and video/action / non-action, was perfect. In this video, music is way too soft, there is no core, voice volume of Viking actors are too high, I know you can do a better job. Perfect video needs to start slow, with one voice, and piano or something, then it transfers to something epic, but not too aggressive (its forbidden in these videos to have too aggressive song), and then end of the video, needs to fall by reducing number of instruments, but in the same time volume, core instrument and voice that follows song from the beginning, needs to be present to the end. Songs like, Zack Hemesy the way, Zack Hemesy - See what I have become, the last era reborn, position music desolation or Audiomachine war of faiths. Good luck

I began with your Spartacus videos (I've watched each and everyone), then I started watching Vikings because of you (and fell heads down in love with it), and your Marco Polo video? Incredibly good!
