PART 2: • viktor and jayce's rel... this will probably get sniped but anyway. these b*tches gay!! good for them!! also this is basically just their whole screentime i'm sorry but. well .
Also people going "the lore!!!" - I know - clearly arcane is telling a slightly different story anyway and I'm keen to see it - bitter exes? classic ♡ - fools who don't realise things until it's too late? classic ♡ - this video was made for fun please calm down
I was really skeptical of him at first but the looks, the accent, his personality and then his backstory all won me over. I didn’t expect to like him the most out of the duo.
@@thesauce1682 “Wait a minute. This isn’t my bedroom!” Viktor ready for the totally believable lie that he got lost, while sneaking late in the evening, to his personal quarters with his “best friend.” Yea
Intersting that... I think I can't fully appreciate this character, only because I'm attracted to girls. I'm absolutely stunned by each face expression from Vi, Cait and by their graceful unique moves. Definetely not the same experience with Jayce, Victor or Heimeringer 😂😂
@@Andriy_Moskalenko you don't have to be attracted to a character to appreciate them for who they are... of course this is coming from a bi person who has heart eyes for half the people in this show, but I digress
@@Andriy_Moskalenko thanks for proving how straight you are, here is your straightest man on earth medal, this way you can show all people on earth you are straight without making weird explanations that makes no sense
@@unnecessarilyhonest6051 @ijornhribrudkrvir I actually agree with you. Affection by a character doesn't have to rely on sexual prefs and stuff. My comment is kinda delusional or at least not accurate.
@@b.bird. Sorry for you but as far as Jayce and Vicktor's relationship is concerned they have never been in love with each other and have never been in a relationship either in act 1 or act 2. This is clearly confirmed in episode 5 where Your "dear Jace" has sex with Mel the counselor. Yes, you read that right! Jace is going to have sex with Mel! So he's attracted to women! And besides he's in love with Mel.
This makes me want to dive deeper into Viktor's mouth, I mean story. What made him emotionless? It cant be just something else. But it could be love, unreturned but tender and true love.
@@jannpial256 hun, you could have edited the comment why did you have to keep the ‘mouth’ part 😂😂😂 I’ve been laughing at this comment for a full 10 minutes because of that 😂😂 P.s these are definitely going to be spoilers (since it talks about his lore) but Viktor was obsessed with something called the ‘Glorious evolution’ essentially Viktor thought that human error was a weakness, since that consistent error in humans could mean death. On the other hand, machinery never makes errors (according to him) so the glorious evolution was about converting humans into robots. However, when Victor changed his body to become robotic, he didn’t realise that his human advantage of logic and emotion would actually be taken away from him. In my opinion, Viktor is a much better parallel to Jayce. Jayce is impulsive, emotional and is easily influenced by his ego. There was a part of Viktor’ lore that talked about him, trying to steal hextech from Jayce’s lab, to help his fellow Zauns folk who were suffering from a degenerative disease (if I remember it correctly) and the hex tech would be the only thing capable of defeating the disease. Obviously, Jayce being a piece of shit, decided that he would counter Viktor, defeating him, and was hailed as a ‘hero’ from there on, Viktor made it his mission to free humans of their weak flesh, and to transgress their weaknesses. Honestly, he’s just a misunderstood nerd that needs a hug.
@@jannpial256 no man read lore he doesnt love jayce he just wants to evolve and is convinced that emotion is obselite and he doesn't need it. He isn't gay Lore is key.
I literally rewatched EVERY scene Viktor has in like 6 times because holy hell I never expected him to be this cute and sassy. Arcane is truly a gift from above 😭

Mind could be changed. Ships will sail. Mel will betray Jayce. Viktor will catch Jayce. Jayce will break Viktor's heart. To suppress the heartache, Viktor will decide to become entirely machine. They will end up badly, but for GLORIOUS EVOLUTION, I see Jayce will come to realize he loves Viktor all along.
@@jannpial256 I doubt this will actually happen in Arcane due to lore saying they were just friends who then become enemies, buy hey it's a ship, you can do whatever you want with it lol. Still, the change from Viktor changing because he wants to, to Viktor changing because if he doesn't (spoilers ahead) he will die is... I dunno. We'll see how Arcane plays it out.
@@fury8940 yeah I doubt that too but who knows. Ive got few hints about it though, but im very open if this will not happen, still shipping them anyhow
3:20 I love how the two of them have completely different cover stories. Jayce is pleading his case while Viktor is down there rambling on to himself about “wAiT a MiNuTe, tHiS IsN’t My BeDrOoM.” XD
3:19 "Wait a minute, this isn't my bedroom?" Why tf did you IMMEDIATELY think of the bedroom when you're sneaking into Heimer's lab with another man, Viktor?
The fact that the Hextech became more important to Viktor than to Jayce. I felt as if Viktor was the real scientist behind the comprehension of the Hexgems while Jayce is more like the engineer & blacksmith/craftman.
It's because they have different end goals. Viktor sees hextech as a way to make the world better (and later on as a way to save himself/ secure his legacy), while Jayce sees hextech as a puzzle to solve and a tool for "progress", whatever that means
From what I understand, viktor what's to make life better for everyone and especially those in need and Jayce just wants progress and recognition in the end.
@@brook_angel jayce wants the same thing The difference is how they use their time. Jayce has more time to pursue his goals than Viktor and in the end he killed an innocent woman over time
@@ntbored7727 jayce practically revels in the spotlight and dismisses Viktor's concerns for accessibility. He becomes a politician under Mel's thumb pushing away Viktor and his ideas and concerns. He wasn't like that from the beginning tho. Also Viktor didn't really Sky. It was more of a workplace accident if anything. Jayce however shot a child while raiding a factory... So there's that.
Don't you love it when Jayce says to Viktor, " *Our* Hextech dream" And then in the next act they made this whole ass scene of Jayce making out with Mel while Viktor lands himself in the hospital, stressed out about the Hextech not doing/responding to something he had hoped. I know Jayce does care about Viktor, it's just the scene kinda does portray Jayce getting carried away being councilor as a new position. He's the front face of Piltover's progress day and they didn't even credit Viktor.
Jayce does, the issue is Viktor doesn't have a house so he can't really wield much power. And it was Jayce who started the whole Hex Tech research project. Plus, Viktor clearly doesn't want the spot light based on how scared he was of having to give a speech.
@@shadowofhawk55 Correct. Seems like Viktor's the lesser-known scientist of Hextech, living in shadow. But he should also be the front face of progress day, even if he doesn't want to come out and give speeches or make public appearances. Everyone talks about Jayce, not Viktor. To me I think he's a brilliant scientist, he came up with the idea to crank the Hextech, and I'm pretty sure he contributed a whole lot in making it work. Jayce might've started this dream, but Viktor helped it become a success.
@@rosethz2474 I am not denying that at all. They are most certainly equal partners. That said, the deck is stacked for Jayce to be the face of Hextech. And I imagine Viktor wouldn't care as long as History remembers both of them, which knowing Jayce (from Arcane, no clue what he's like in LoL) he would absolutely make sure happens.
for some reason, about people who need, for example, lung transplantation, do not write that they are destroying themselves. And about modern prostheses of hands and feet or implants. Victor makes his body hardy and saves his life, and I don't understand why almost no one thinks about it.
@@academyminor Probably talking about when Viktor starts going metal crazy and replaces other parts of his body that don't need fixing, like giving himself a lobotomy. Honestly it's more of the breaking relationships aspect that I'm sadly anticipating, with Jayce, Heimerdinger.... uhhh Viktor doesn't really interact act much with other does he I think 90% of his dialogue is directed at Jayce
Poor Viktor.... He is only trying to make people's life better since he better than anyone knows what the limitations of the human body can do to someone. He is not evil just misunderstood
Me before Arcane: I will never simp. (Spoilers below. I thought everyone already knew this, sorry ;-;) Me now, knowing that Viktor becomes a cyborg who turns people into machines: _as he should. as he ABSOLUTELY should. flawless king._
@@rumpalug in OP’s defense this is well known and the show is made knowing most will know some surface-level lol lore, either before going into it or from research after watching arcane to figure out who is which champion etc. it won’t impact your viewing experience so don’t worry much abt it
"Wait a minute, this isn't my bedroom" as if it would've been easily explained for them to be sneaking into Viktors bedroom in the middle of the night 😏
If you read the lore, viktor and jayce were never friends but more like a 2 mad scientists with different ways of doing things are helping each other for their own gain and their inventions.
By the LoL lore, Jayce is also supose to be a white man with blue eyes and working for the Giopara family, the patreons who give him the crystals in first place. But Arcane is not going to follow the LoL lore. I love that there's not 'actual' lore since every game (LoL, LoR, Wild Rifth, etc) are taking different aproachs to the characters. Is like a "chose your own history, enjoy the multiverse" 😎
@@iancris1730 I think every game has is own lore. Yeah, they are inspired in the same universe, but sometime there's contradictions in the comics/short storys of LoL and the cards in LoR. LoR's lore is good as compliment and expansion of the universe, but didn't replace the actual lore of LoL.
@@estrellaescobar5723 The lore of LoR is the most recent and expanded in many ways, it makes sense Arcane takes a lot of this game to tell the rest, also very presumably Arcane is the new canon, either because of its popularity in addition to how much Riot is connecting the plots and character relationships, which is probably Riot's new direction in lore. It wouldn't be strange for LoL to upgrade his lore to suit Arcane
2021 and people still think that you need to have a "valid reason" to ship lmao. You really think I care if Jayce sees Viktor as a brother/partner, so what, it's fiction, it doesn't affect your life.
[Spoiler:] I love Viktor´s playfulness so much! When he kept Jayce from jumping to death the first thing he does is teasing him about being egotistical which makes Jayce angry, but also snaps him right out of his fatalistic despair. Later in the last episode after Jayce repays the favor he just dwells in a bit of self-pity going on about the past when everything used to make sense. And here it is Viktor again who tries to tease him out of his gloomy mood when Jayce remembers an incident of himself messing up and feeling embarrassed to which Viktor only replies: "At least you didn´t throw up." I admire how he is able to be funny just moments after feeling such despair that he almost took his own life. And he is not even doing it to deflect from his feelings, but only to lighten up Jayce´s mood.
In the show, VI and Jinx kind of took the spotlight, but I absolutely love the way they shaped Viktor - ambitious, enthusiast but also depressingly weak, no wonder his future prospects are machine oriented - flesh grows weak, robotics don't
I just think it’s a bit odd how they made Jayce say “he’s like a brother to me.” They’ve clearly seen all the jayvik shippers (which have existed long before arcane was a thing, by the way) If they really didn’t want to make them an actual mlm couple, they could’ve still gone through with the show with Jayce having never said that line. Like damn, Vik got brotherzoned so hard. LoL already has two wlw couples (Diana/Leona and Caitlyn/Vi), meanwhile a whole ass Twisted Fate and Graves exists and they were going to be husbands but that idea was shut down. Why is Riot so allergic to mlm couples, come on. First TF and Graves, now Jayvik..
I honestly think this show has been in production so long they had no idea about jayvik being a thing since it wasn't really 'big' before this at all... but they also seem to not know any other word to describe two men who are close to each other lmao they brotherzone m/m ships a lot
Because it's also annoying when people automatically try to ship any two male characters that have anything resembling friendship. Why does everything have to be sexual?
@@vi_m_ I don't even believe there are female ones aside from Vi and Cait, and even that feels forced on by the community. OmGsHoRtHaIrPuNk she must be lesbian
okay but the absolute tragedy of viktor, our baby, our beloved, our spicy little pepperoni, our boy, being gay and desperately in love with a straight man ?? and viktor is slowly dying and they both know it, and he's struggling to complete his life's work with jayce but he can see jayce drifting away from him, being stained by flawed piltovan morals and logic ??? and the dual pain of heartbreak and jayce's betrayal to their original idea of improving life and helping the undercity ???????????? *cries*
I've been playing LoL for 8 years, and I never realized Viktor has an accent lmao. In my defense, I'm Eastern-European, so Russian accents just sound like normal English to me.
I just finished the show and the first scene in this video punched me in the gut. Victor looks so healthy, his limp is barely even noticeable. His body failed him so quickly
If they did ever make a scene where they both confessed their love or smth, i would imagine Viktor would say some cheesy shit like "I've never been able to walk normally, but you *literally* made me fly Jayce"
Me before watching Arcane: I'll probably like that "Jayce" the most Me after watching Arcane: ...I'm in love with an absolut crazy maniac of a girl with trauma and an unbelivable cutie that will probably die soon Edit: 3:46 oh and his face made me go crazy for him, just saying
@@user-po9cf1px1l What happens is much worse though, sorry to break it to you.... You will see him suffer alot more in the future, and him and Jayce becoming enemies is going to hurt alot.
When I first saw Viktor I thought he was gonna either be the one to steal the research or be the jealous colleague that turns evil I am sooooo f*cking glad I was wrong, but know I just wanna medical help, all for the sake of GLORIOUS EVOLUTION
It makes me so sad that these two friends, best friends, brothers, (probably not) lovers but STILL they were close...knowing what happened to Viktor and Jayce in the future makes me so sad :(
As much as others loved that Mel and Jayce became a thing, I saw no real spark. These two on the other hand have been working closely for years. Shipping them was definitely the smarter and cuter choice. I hope that still actually happens in season 2.
I thought the Mel thing was out of left field until I rewatched the whole season. Then I noticed that in every scene Jayce shares with Mel, he's always looking at her (sometimes like he's disrobing her with his eyes even - can't blame him, she's gorgeous). He's always seeking her approval first and foremost. When she seduces him, she's making use of (to her, at least) very obvious attraction he has for her. It's purely strategic and manipulative on her part at first, but then she falls for him also (cue the scene with her mother). There might be an attraction on Viktor's part (hello "wait, this isn't my bedroom" line), but it's sadly unrequited if so. That always sucks, I feel you, cyborg king.
I doubt they’re going to make Viktor and Jayce a thing seeing as there’s no genuine hints that they’re anything more than close friends. Hell Jayce even said Viktor is basically his brother. Mel is attracted to Jayce because of him being the golden boy, and her being a councilor is probably a big plus as well to him. Their power based relationship make sense to me.
I just realized viktor said how he never wanted to be an assistant but when jayce if became more and more famous and viktors in the shadows its almost if it never changed hes still beneath somebody whether its the council or jayce himself
I just love how Jayce apologizes to Viktor whenever he offends or upset him in some way as if he's that "moody boyfriend" 😭 I couldn't stop thinking about the fact that when Viktor said, "Wait, this isn't my bedroom..", I immediately thought that if ever that was the truth, then it would appear that he's sneaking Jayce who is a man into his bedroom 😭😭 Also, the part where Jayce said, "Our hextech", it kinda made me feel like they just had a baby ✋😔
I mean. The Greeks had a word for this. It was Philia. The love between friends.(and trust me. The ancient Greeks knew well and good what gay love was) The passion and loyalty between men of like minds is distinct. The focus on romance between men who simply have the same vibe is not just weird. It completely misunderstands this entire sphere of attraction. I want to be with my friends not because I want to take them to bed. But because our shared interests and common views inspire one another and hold us accountable to who we are. You cheapen the idea by making it romantic.
0:51 honestly kind of cringed at the delivery of the lines from jayce. He yells “the hells your problem?!” And then just switches to a calm voice and says “whats that?” Only part in the show where the voice acting was off.
I really love this rebooted lore between these two or more rather a fully detailed history of these two . Arcane did a good job of humanizing both Scientists rather than making them out to be the archetypal good and bad guys they are in the game . It's really nice seeing Viktor glorifying the overall prosperity of Piltover and Zaun and Jayce trying to highlight Viktor and Zaunites that they too can be just as beneficial to the world as anyone else .
